The Cast Of Sabrina The Teenage Witch Where Are They Now?
In 1996, the world was introduced to the kooky adventures of a teenage witch called Sabrina, and it's safe to say TV and magic were changed forever. Yes, the hit show Sabrina the Teenage Witch, starring Melissa Joan Hart, Caroline Rhea, and Beth Broderick, bewitched us all and made us feel like the cast was a part of our close circle of friends. How could we forget that infectious electric-guitar theme tune and the "interesting" fashion choices that were made on this beloved TV show. There was something so endearing and earnest about Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and its seven series run is a testament to its popularity. We lived through Sabrina's high school traumas right alongside her as well as the changes she went through in her college years. Sabrina became a part of our family, and we tuned in weekly to see what she would get up to next.
Although some of the stars of the show are still in the showbiz game, a number of them have faded from fame and are barely recognizable as the characters they once played. It's been 21 years since Sabrina first stole our hearts, so it's about time we investigated what our favorite characters are up to these days. Sounds magical, doesn't it?
15 Melissa Joan Hart - Still Casting TV Magic
After Sabrina ended in 2003 (much to our dismay), Melissa decided to take a break from the spotlight and married Mark Wilkerson, the lead singer of Course of Nature. After appearing in a few small roles in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and a handful of TV movies, Melissa signed on to appear on dance competition show Dancing with the Stars in 2009. She only made it to the sixth week of the competition, but she still managed to dazzle us with her adorable charm. One year on from her toe-tapping television stint, she returned to our screens in the sitcom Melissa and Joey with co-star Matthew Leblanc, of Friends fame. The show aired for four seasons until it was canceled in August 2015. Since then, her appearances have been somewhat few and far between, aside from starring in Christian drama film God's Not Dead 2 and TV movie Broadcasting Christmas. For now though, the former teenage witch seems to be concentrating on being a mom to her three sons and funnily enough, there's a pretty good chance she follows you on Twitter.
14 Caroline Rhea - Forever Hilda In Our Hearts
Who didn't love Hilda Spellman? Of Sabrina's two aunts, Hilda was always the fun one and the one we always secretly wished was our own kooky leopard print-wearing aunt. Since hanging up her witch's hat for the final season of Sabrina, Rhea has continued to keep herself busy both in television and film. She hosted her own show, The Caroline Rhea Show, and then went on to present weight-loss reality TV show The Biggest Loser. But always one to keep busy, that wasn't enough for Caroline! She also appeared in several movies including The Perfect Man, Christmas with the Kranks, and Fast Girl, as well as a string of television shows such as Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire, Sordid Lives: The Series, and To Be Fat Like Me. Rhea also had a recurring role in Disney show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody as well as a long-running voice role on Phineas and Ferb.
13 Beth Broderick - Zelda Is Still As Enchanting As Ever
Despite being known as the “strict aunt”, Aunt Zelda was so adorkable and loveable that it was hard not to be completely enchanted by her. The chemistry between Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea was absolutely magical, and they really did make the show the hit it was. After leaving Sabrina, Broderick moved on to a number of different shows, including Homeland Security, Supernatural, The Closer, CSI, ER, Castle, Lost, and the Stephen King series Under the Dome. What really made us happy though was when she and Melissa Joan Hart reunited in an episode of Melissa and Joey in 2014, which was a perfect reunion for these two former co-stars. She's also done a few movies but hasn't appeared in anything that notable. Today she lives in Austin, Texas and works mostly on performing in local theater productions, although she does have a number of TV movies coming out this year and next, so watch out for her as you're flicking through the channels!
12 Nick Bakay - Salem Is Still Slaying
Salem was easily one of the best characters in Sabrina the Teenage Witch and was always there to provide a sassy quip or a funny one-liner. It didn't even matter that his less-than-realistic robot was technologically unadvanced - any scene was made better if it included Salem. What you might not know is that it was Nick Bakay's voice behind the bolshy black cat. It's thanks to Bakay's snarky sense of humor and comedic edge that Salem came to life, Bakay having worked extensively behind the voiceover mic for nearly two decades. He has since voiced characters for live action and animated television, including The Simpsons, The Angry Beavers, and Mom and was part of the producing staff on The King of Queens. He's also responsible for co-writing Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 with Kevin James and has acted in various films and on TV shows, including That '70s Show, 'Til Death, and Zookeeper.
11 Nate Richert - Harvey The Heartthrob? Not So Much Anymore…
Playing Harvey Kinkle in Sabrina the Teenage Witch was Nate Richert's first big role, and boy did we all love him as Sabrina's sweet, gentle-natured love-interest. He was a real 90s heartthrob and it's safe to say we were all heartbroken when he and Sabrina broke up after season four when the show's producers decided Sabrina needed a more “grown-up” relationship. Luckily for us, Harvey returned for the series finale. Did you really think Sabrina would end up with Aaron? As if! After he left Sabrina, Nate pretty much fell off the acting radar as of 2006. Instead, he did what pretty much anyone who's given up the acting bug does and became an independent musician, playing a mainly bluegrass repertoire. He released his album Halogen Moon in 2012 and has continued to pursue music as his main career. His looks are a far cry from his Harvey Kinkle days, his luscious locks now replaced with a balding head and a lumberjack beard, but to us, Nate Richert will always be our heartthrob Harvey.
10 Jenna Leigh Green - Libby, Mean Girl No More
Jenna Leigh Green played Libby Chessler, the mean girl we all loved to hate and Sabrina's arch-nemesis at Westbridge High School. She was responsible for a large part of Sabrina's high-school woes, and honestly, she really did make the show even more fun to watch thanks to all her taunting. When Jenna took the role of Libby, she was fresh out of high school and this was her first big break in showbiz. Since her starring role in Sabrina, Jenna has gone on to play a number of different roles in other big TV hits, including Dharma & Greg, ER, Ghost Whisperer, Castle, Cold Case, and Bones. For a brief period of time, she was also a part of the burlesque-version of Pussycat Dolls in LA and continued to pursue further musical roles, especially musical theatre, appearing in "The Wizard of Oz", "Into the Woods", and "The Secret Garden." Most notably Green played Nessarose (and was understudy for Elphaba) on the North American tour and then Broadway productions of "Wicked" - a great fit for a former mean girl
9 Michelle Beaudoin - Jenny, Where Did You Go?
Oh Jenny, how we loved you! You were cute, funny, quirky, and a perfect match as Sabrina's BFF. It broke our hearts when Michelle Beaudoin's loveable character was ousted from the cast at the end of the first season. What happened there producers? No disrespect on her replacement Valerie, but it's safe to say there was a big Jenny-shaped hole in our hearts when she was unexpectedly cut from the cast. Post-Sabrina, Beaudoin went on to appear in a few select projects, including Ginger Snaps 2, Unleashed, and Sunset Strip. Since the mid-2000s though, Beaudoin has all but disappeared from the acting world, and her IMDB page is shrouded in mystery, not unlike her disappearance from Sabrina. With little information on her recent activity except for being a business partner in the company Syncofy, which is a search engine for music licensing, little else seems to be known about Beaudoin's latest adventures. Someone might need to cast a locator spell for this one…
8 Lindsay Sloane - Victory Beyond Valerie
Lindsay Sloane joined the Sabrina cast after Jenny left in season two, and her character Valerie wasn't exactly well-received to begin with. Although Valerie was sweet and unassuming, Jenny's abrupt absence made it difficult for audiences to warm to Sloane's Valerie for a while. She was a good-enough sidekick for Sabrina's high-school years, but there was something just a little too annoying to make her a firm-favorite among fans. Valerie's character ended up getting shipped off to Alaska at the beginning of season 4 and for many, it wasn't that big of a loss to the show. Since leaving Sabrina, Sloane has proven she's got some finely-tuned comedy chops on her and a talent for picking good projects to work on. She has worked on a wide variety of TV projects since her days as Valerie including The West Wing, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, Weeds, Psych, Funny or Die Presents, The League, Drunk History, and The Odd Couple. She's also featured in a number of well-known movies, such as Bring It On, She's Out of My League, Horrible Bosses, and Horrible Bosses 2. Not too bad for a character who got cut and sent off to Alaska!
7 Paul Feig - Mr. Pool, Swimming in Success
Of all the stars to pass through the cast of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Paul Feig has had the best success story since leaving the beloved 90s show. Paul Feig, now known for his lady-driven blockbuster comedies including Bridesmaids, The Heat, and Ghostbusters, played the role of loveable Mr. Pool, Sabrina's high school biology teacher and the the foil to many of Sabrina and company's hijinks. He was a delightful character but no one could have guessed that after leaving the show, he would catapult himself to fame. Post-Sabrina, Feig went on to write, produce, and direct cult TV show Freaks and Geeks which launched the careers of Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Busy Philipps, Linda Cardellini, and James Franco, and co-executive produced The Office and Nurse Jackie. And then, of course, there are his afore-mentioned blockbuster comedies that have earned him global recognition as a master of comedic directing. Not too shabby Mr. Pool, not too shabby.
6 Martin Mull - Principal Kraft Still Pursuing His Craft
We all remember Principal Kraft as the detention-giving, meanie who seemed to have in for Sabrina, Harvey, and Valerie. He replaced the loveable Mr. Pool, and he wasn't always an especially well-liked character. He dated both Hilda and Zelda and eventually left us at the end of season five. Long before his role in Sabrina though, Martin Mull had been in the acting game since the 1970s, appearing in most of the era's big TV shows. Since leaving Sabrina, Marin Mull has continued to feature in audience favorites, including American Dad!, Two and a Half Men, Arrested Development, Dads, and Community. He's also been involved in a few movies, but he's always been more focused on his television career, Besides being an actor, Mull is also a talented musician and musical comedian, and continues to pursue music in his spare time when not on screen.
5 David Lascher - Josh, All About Life, Not Lattés
David Lascher's character Josh was introduced to us as the more “grown-up” relationship for Sabrina, edging Harvey off the scene in the process. Sabrina and Josh had an exhausting on-again-off-again relationship which ended with Josh going off to Prague. Naturally. It was actually planned that Sabrina and Josh would get engaged at the end of season seven, but in reality, David Lascher just wanted to move on from the role. David quit acting for a long while after 1999 but made a surprise comeback in 2014 when he reunited with a number of his Sabrina co-stars in Melissa and Joey. Since then, however, Lascher has been pretty much off the radar, clearly wanting to concentrate on his personal life with his wife and children than throw himself back into the limelight. Who knows maybe we'll end up reading a news story soon that he's finally moved to Prague…
4 Soleil Moon Frye - Roxie, Still Here For The Party
Soleil Moon Frye's character Roxie appeared when Sabrina went off to college and was part of Sabrina's friend trifecta of Miles and Morgan. We all remember Roxie as the fierce brunette with a passion for social justice, and it was Soleil's character that really added a dose of social consciousness to the show. Did it need it? Well, that's debatable, but Roxie certainly was a character we could get behind. Since her Sabrina days, Frye has done a number of other showbiz gigs, including working as a voice actor on shows such as the animated It's Punky Brewster, The Proud Family, Planet Sheen, and Robot Chicken. Otherwise, Frye has spent most of her post-Sabrina time dedicating herself to her children and to parenting and is an avid mommy-blogger for her own website which helps parents get creative through DIY projects. She's also launched a party-planning app called P.S. XO - so you know where to go when you're in need of tips for your next big shindig.
3 Elisa Donovan - Morgan Became A Mommy
Best known for her role as Amber in the teen-classic movie Clueless, Elisa joined the Sabrina cast as Morgan Donovan in 2000 as the shallow counterpart to Roxie's intensely humanitarian character. She was the fashionable, pretty college girl Sabrina became friends with, and despite her somewhat vapid character flaws, Morgan provided a lot of comedic freshness to the otherwise underwhelming college years of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Since leaving the show, Elisa Donovan has continued to mainly work in TV, appearing on web series In Gayle We Trust, Whole Day Down, The Dog Who Saved the Holidays, and HOARS (Home Owner Association Regency Supreme). She's also had roles in the film A Night at the Roxbury, and Beverly Hills, 90210 as Ginger LaMonica. Apart from these minor roles, Donovan hasn't starred in anything very notable since the mid-2000s but lives happily with her husband Charlie Bigelow and their daughter Scarlett.
2 Alimi Ballard - Quizmaster Albert, Still Fresh As Ever
We got our first taste of Alimi Ballard's zany Quizmaster Albert in season two when we learned that apparently, Sabrina needed a witch's license to practice her magic, therefore needing to pass a number of quizzes and fulfill a whole lot of storylines. Basically, she needed to go through a way-less cool version of Hogwarts. Weirdly enough, Quizmaster Albert seemingly disappeared somewhere in the middle of season three, and boy did we all miss those fly colorful outfits he had going on. Although we were sad to see Quizmaster go, Ballard has been a busy bee since leaving Sabrina. He's enjoyed steady work in TV, playing roles in Numb3rs, NCIS, The Super Hero Squad Show, Rizzoli & Isles, Drop Dead Diva, Castle, and CSI. He also made an appearance in mega movie franchise Fast Five - although sadly he wasn't sporting any of his color-coordinated outfits we loved so much in his Quizmaster days.
1 Trevor Lissauer - Miles Away From Fame
During seasons five and six of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Trevor Lissauer played the geeky, goofy roommate to college-aged Sabrina, along with pals Morgan and Roxie. One of the main plot points involving Miles was his obsession with the paranormal, but his absolute disbelief in witches. Funny since he was sharing a house with a witch, huh? His popularity as a character on the show was mixed, but haters certainly rejoiced when he was inexplicably axed from the show in season seven without any reasons why. There seems to be a pattern here… Since leaving the show though, Lissauer has had a very quiet decade or so. He did dabble in the music biz for a while, releasing a self-titled album in 2001 and one with his band The Glass Plastiks in 2012. Most recently, Lissauer had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in 2016 musical hit La La Land, where he played a valet. It's a far cry from his starring role in Sabrina, but hey, "here's to the fools that dream."
