On February 5th, 2019, news broke that Jennifer Lawrence had hopped on the #Engagement bandwagon. Jen's rep has confirmed that Cooke Maroney has gone from boyfriend to fiancé (and yes, it's a big deal).

The Hunger Games franchise turned this girl from just another actress into a bonafide superstar. Oddly though, her art gallery director of a fiancé isn't a giant celebrity. At 33, Cooke is also slightly older than Jen (aged 28), but they seem perfect for each other.

"A massive ring." That's what we want to hear. It's the standard we expect from the likes of Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott (seriously, where are these guys at?). "Their date night lasted for about three hours," E! News reported in the summer of 2018. The witnessed comments-"totally into each other" accompanied the coziest pics ever.

Jen wore jeans and cute black heels. Cooke wore sneakers. These two sat at an outdoor table in NYC, and it seems like they just let love take over. Sometimes, facial expressions say it all.

E! News reports these two first being labelled a couple in the summer of 2018. Were they? Kind of the most obvious place there is- New York City. A casual NYC date got everyone talking, as did a super-romantic dinner. Not just a summer fling.

Jennifer has been pretty vocal about her views on men. Jen was just 25 when Vogue interviewed her about love, but when it's Jennifer Lawrence, everyone's interested. That might also have something to do with how #OutThere this girl's vibe is. She told the magazine,

"No one ever asks me out. I am lonely every Saturday night. Guys are so mean to me."

Over in Rome, Cooke was likely opening Jen's eyes to the culture world as they were spotted visiting the Villa Borghese and Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri church.

Running into the ex- a giant deal in the real world. Clearly, just as much of an issue in the celebrity world. Jennifer's engagement to Cooke leaves behind a string of exes, although making it #InYourFace was likely a complete mistake, here. Jen has dated Nicholas Hoult in the past.

Hoult's movie, The Favourite, seemed to be Cooke's choice for a summer date- #Awkward. As Bustle reports, the couple went to The New York Film Festival where, presumably, Jen sat with thoughts like "Please let a hole swallow me up!"

Bustle made it pretty clear that it was unlikely, but not impossible, that Jen might have run into Nicholas and his girlfriend at the time, Emma Stone. Ouch.

14 The Last Guy Was 22 Years Older Than Her

Hollywood has thrown us some pretty giant age gaps. Some, like Beyonce and Jay-Z's 12-year age gap, is barely noticeable. Jason Statham is 20 years older than Rosie Huntington-Whitely. Kris Jenner is nearly 30 years older than Corey Gamble.

"Split due to age gap." J-Law was just 27 when she dated 48-year-old filmmaker, Darren Aronofsky.

Jen and Darren's one-year relationship ended in 2017 due to the stress of having a working relationship, as Vogue reports. The Mother actress was dating a guy old enough to be her father. "There is a huge age difference, and they are different people," a source said, as The Daily Mail reports.

13 Cooke Is An Art Director, They Met "Through A Friend"

Furiously Googling who Cooke Maroney even is- yup, pretty much everyone right now. Consider it the one downside of an Oscar-winning actress not dating a fellow A-lister. While Cooke isn't exactly pulling shifts at McDonald's, he is relatively normie for Hollywood.

As Pop Sugar reports, Cooke represents "high-profile" clients at New York's Gladstone Gallery. He studied art history at NYU. We also found out that he has an IG page, but the private account has less than 2,000 followers.

The media outlet reports that they met through a mutual friend, Laura Simpson. Jen and Laura go back 12 years, so it looks like a case of the BFF knowing the right guy!

12 January 2019: They Move In Together, Things Are "Very Serious"

It's the biggest sign ever. Chris Pratt is now engaged to Katherine Schwarzenegger. Not long before the engagement was announced, Chris updated his social media- lots of boxes, a pickup truck and the news that he was "moving."

"Things between them are very serious. They definitely appear to be in it for the long haul." In January 2019, Jen and Cooke literally hauled- they moved in together.

Us Weekly's source made it pretty clear that this relationship is serious, although the news didn't get a lot of press. Unlike Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, we didn't get any pics of them in their crib.

11 February 2019: Jen's Rep Confirms The Engagement

Until the rep confirms it, it's just a story. For the most part, rumors are pretty negative. Kylie Jenner had to tell the internet that "messing with real people" wasn't cool after "prank" footage of Travis Scott emerged, so Yahoo reports.

Page Six gets to call "OG" on breaking Jen's engagement news on February 5th, 2019. "They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it. The ring was very noticeable. They were sitting back in a corner. She was wearing a cute black dress with white polka dots." That's what a source revealed, as Time reports.

The report was then confirmed by Jen's rep. That's when everyone started talking about the ring.

10 Not Quite These Two, But They Moved Fast

Ariana Grande and Pete's 24-day, whirlwind engagement has gone down in history. It's also brought us Thank U, Next. #Whirlwind seems to be the new black right now- Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger and Nick and Priyanka Jonas all did it.

Jennifer is estimated to have dated Cooke for nine months before announcing the engagement, according to Bustle. For some couples, that's long enough.

When you're just 28 years old, getting engaged so quickly is a pretty big step. In some instances, it ends well. Then again, looking at Kim Kardashian's 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries, it can also end pretty badly.

9 A "Giant Rock," The Engagement Ring Is "Massive"

$2 million for Paris Hilton's ring (although she told TMZ "it's mine" after the split). For Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, it was a more modest $93,000, People reports. Jen has barely been engaged a week, but her ring is making giant headlines. As Time reported (via Page Six):

"It was a giant rock. The ring was very noticeable."

While Page Six called the ring "massive" and a "rock," Cosmo went with a different take, calling it "dainty." The first pics of it are way too blurry for anyone to form an opinion, but we'll no doubt see for ourselves soon. When there's a ring, it's #FullyOfficial.

8 No Social Media, This Isn't A Kardashian Relationship

Don't expect any IG canoodling from these two. Demi Lovato may have appeared on her new boyfriend's IG, but J-Law doesn't even have an account. For celeb IG love, you'll have more luck with Miley Cyrus, Kylie Jenner or the Biebs.

"I will never get Twitter. I'm not very good on phone or technology. I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me,"

CBS News quotes Jen saying. That said, E! News previously reported that Jen has "secret" social media accounts. Cooke is on IG, but the account is private. Old-fashioned paparazzi it is, then!

7 Chris Martin Was Older, So Was Darren Aronofsky (So Is Cooke)

Celebs seem to date with the same patterns as we do. Khloe Kardashian is currently dating her third basketball player, Tristan Thompson. Taylor Swift has dated Harry Styles, Calvin Harris and Joe Jonas (hello, music).

Jen's pattern seems to be older guys. Darren Aronofsky was 22 years older than Jen. Darren isn't the first, though. Jen was 24 when she dated Coldplay's Chris Martin. He was 37, and fans "freaked out," according to Hollywood Life. Nicholas Hoult was a year older than Jen. Cooke is 34, while Jennifer is 28. Not such a big age gap, but still a gap.

As E! News reports, Jen's admission referred to her relationship with Darren Aronofsky. On being friends with exes, Jen added that it's a "for the most part" deal, as People reports. Still, that's quite a few guys for Cooke to get introduced to.

This one doesn't need some anonymous source. You can be the judge for yourself. As Jennifer and Cooke went public, the camera lens found itself firmly pointed at them.

While E! News did report Jen and Cooke were "totally into each other," it's pics where the girl isn't looking at the guy that can be the real eye-opener. Jen wasn't on the red carpet, here. She wasn't posing. It's quite possible she didn't know the cameras were there.

When the girl smiles without a prompt, it's the best sign ever. For the guy who seems to have made her happy, we're really glad.

3 Not Long Ago, She'd "Given Up" On The Idea Of Marriage

Fairytale weddings can become a girl's dream. "One day I'll walk down the aisle, Holding hands with my mama, I'll be thanking my dad, 'Cause she grew from the drama." Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" lyrics are living proof. Jen's views changed over the years.

"Being 24 was this whole year of… 'who am I without this man? I don't know if I ever will get married and I'm OK with that,”

Jen said in 2015, as Vanity Fair reports. The breakups were taking their toll, although Jen seemed at peace with the idea that she might never tie the knot. "Given up" was Heat World's take back in the day, but things have changed.

2 "Can't Wait To Get Married" Is Something We've Heard Before

Having second thoughts about marriage isn't necessarily a bad thing. While 2015 saw Jen say that she wasn't sure she'd ever get married, this girl seems to return to the idea easily when there's a guy in her life.

"I can't wait to be married," Jen told Vogue the same year. "I feel like if I find that one person who I want to spend the rest of my life with, who I want to be the father of my children, that I would absolutely not [mess] it up."

1 Wedding Bells In Three, Two, One…

As yet, no reports of a wedding date have been released. Jen and Cooke stepped out for a low-key dinner date following the announcement, but E! News wasn't listening in on the conversation at Il Buco in New York.

No comments from Jen. No comments from Cooke. Barely an appearance together, except for The Favourites premiere. While in the normie world, that would throw out a giant red flag, it's actually the reverse in the celeb world.

Staying low-key is the biggest sign of being serious for Jen. We're waiting for an update, but we wish this girl all the best. She deserves it.
