These stories might not tell every story over the last year but they definitely capture the big ones. There were some wins in 2017: marriages, pregnancy announcements, new movies and new music. There were some losses too: memorial concerts, bad commercials, and relationships that really should have just stayed off-again. But the best might have been the moments of resiliency. 2017 was definitely the year when a lot of bad happened, but we learned from that bad and came back stronger. Women owned their power and finally said TIMES UP! They took to the streets and marched for their rights. It was a year of protesting, finding courage and speaking up. And we keep marching into 2018 with just as much power and sass.

25 Ariana Grande Full Of Emotion At The One Love Concert In Manchester

In June 2017, Ariana Grande organized a benefit concert called One Love Manchester. It was in response to a bombing that occurred at her concert in Manchester two weeks earlier. The bombing was devastating.

It was horrific to watch parents and tons of young girls running from the stadium.

Instead of cowering, Ariana decided to meet hate with love. She showed that we don't back down from terrorists. We stand up and show them what we're made of. So many courageous concert goers returned to the scene of the bombing to celebrate love and the healing power of music with Ariana two weeks after the event. Many other stars, like Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay and The Black Eyed Peas, were moved by Ariana's dedication and joined her in concert. They gave Manchester a show they deserved and would never forget.

Over the last year, we've seen two amazing Women's Marches. The first march occurred the day after the presidential inauguration. Women (and men) all around the world took to the streets to stand up for women's rights and other important beliefs. The outpouring of support from the ladies of Hollywood was clear all across the country and the world. Stars such as Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart, Vanessa Hudgens and Gina Rodriguez all took to the streets to march with their fellow ladies. Other stars, like Sophia Bush, Madonna, Rose McGowan, Scarlett Johansson, and more took to stages and shared their message publically. This year in Hollywood has been all about female empowerment. Time's up on anything less than equality. The women of Hollywood have spoken!

23 Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's First Public Outing

It's been a big year for Prince Harry and his love, American actress Meghan Markle. In November, the two announced their engagement after months of speculation and secret dating. But this snap above is from Harry and Meghan's first official outing together. The two attended Harry's Invictus Games in Toronto, where Meghan lives and previously shot her show, Suits.

The two had been dating for quite some time, but Septemeber marked their first public outing.

Fans and admirers couldn't be happier to see these two lovebirds together and no longer hiding their love. They both looked casual and cool. They kept their attention on the games but still had lots of time to chat and hold hands. And now they're busy planning their May wedding!

In 2017, Selena Gomez shocked fans when she revealed that she had undergone a kidney transplant surgery. We knew that Selena had Lupus and had some health issues, but no one knew it was this serious. Selena shared on her Instagram page, "So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and the incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. In February, Beyonce practically broke the internet when she shared this photo and the announcement that she and Jay Z were expecting twins. This photo went on to become the most liked photo on Instagram this year, so of course, we had to include it on our list.

Of course, everyone was thrilled that Beyonce and Jay Z were adding to their family, despite the cheating issues.

And of course, someone as awesome as Beyonce would be bringing twins into the world - double the awesome! But this photo brought a lot of questions. For many, Bey can do no wrong. If she considers this artsy and graceful, then that is what it is. For others, this kind of looked like a shoot at the Walmart Photo Studio. From the cheesy wreath, sheer curtain being used as a veil and odd bra/panty combo, many fans were left scratching their heads.

For most of 2017, Taylor Swift was totally MIA. Seriously, no one had any clue where she was. She deleted posts and photos on social media and went totally radio silent. She'd only pop up to wish her friends a happy birthday or good tour.

And then, out of nowhere, she completely erased her past Instagram posts and started posting cryptic messages, like videos of snakes.

It was all in preparation for Taylor's 6th studio album: Reputation. This one was all about Taylor fighting back and lashing out at her haters. She called out her enemies, like Kimye and Katy Perry, and poked fun at herself. Her video for "Look What You Made Me Do" was huge and a giant departure from the old Taylor. We also learned that the "Old Taylor" was dead. When the album finally dropped in November, it was clear that a new Taylor was here to stay.

18 Khloe Kardashian Finally Gets To Be A Mom

Towards the end of 2017, the big talk in Hollywood was that not only did we have one Kardashian expecting a baby - but three! We already knew that Kim and Kanye were expecting their third child via surrogate. That child, named Chicago, was recently born and joins siblings North and Saint. But the really exciting news was that Khloe Kardashian was also pregnant. Kardashian fans know that Khloe has wanted a baby for a long time. She and ex-husband Lamar Odom struggled to conceive. It must have been so hard for Khloe to watch her siblings welcome lot of children and know that she still had none of her own. So we were so happy when Khloe finally confirmed in December that she and boyfriend Tristan Thompson were welcoming their first child - she called it her greatest dream realized.

17 Joe Jonas And Sophie Turner Got Engaged!

Music and Hollywood are coming together in this holy union. Former Jonas Brother and current frontman of DNCE, Joe Jonas, and star of X-Men and Game of Thrones, Sophie Turner, are engaged!

The two shared matching photos on Instagram in October with the captions, "She said yes" and "I said yes."

Naturally, everyone was excited. Best friend and bridesmaid to be, Maisie Williams, was quick to congratulate the pair. Joe's brothers Nick and Kevin also threw in their congratulations and welcomed Sophie to the family. In November, Jophie threw a small engagement party in New York with guests such as Nick and Kevin Jonas, other DNCE members and model Ashley Graham. 16 Serena Williams Won The Australian Open While Pregnant

2017 was a huge year for Serena Williams! She won the Australian Open, announced her pregnancy, got married and welcomed her baby girl. Doing all those things in one lifetime would be impressive but Serena did it all within the year. And of course, she was strong and gorgeous every step of the way. The most impressive would have to be Serena winning the Australian Open while newly pregnant. While most newly pregnant ladies can barely keep down their breakfast, Serena was out there winning matches and securing titles. But at 8 weeks pregnant on Jan 28, 2017, Serena won the Australian Open for the 7th time. This was also her 23rd Grand Slam singles title. In September, Serena and her then-fiance welcomed their baby girl, Alexis Olympia. In November, Serena got married in front of guests such as Beyonce, Anna Wintour, and Kim Kardashian West in attendance.

15 Kylie Pregnancy Rumors Are Everywhere

The third and most controversial Kardashian pregnancy has got to be the youngest sister, Kylie Jenner. While Kim's third child via surrogate was always public knowledge and Khloe made her formal announcement in December, Kylie has stayed mum (pun intended) on the subject. She has yet to deny or confirm the rumors. So instead, fans have been trying their hardest to prove that the youngest Kardashian really is pregnant.

They point to photos of Kylie with what appears to be a bump and signs such as her exclusion from the Christmas card and insistence on drinking non-alcoholic beverages.

Some even believe that Kylie was Kim's surrogate, but that seems like a stretch. We guess only time will tell! 2018 could see us welcoming a whole batch of new Kardashians.

14 Kendall's Offensive Pepsi Commercial Happened

Sadly, not all of the Kardashians had happy news to share in 2017. Kendall Jenner came under a lot of fire for her participation in a very poor taste Pepsi commercial. Honestly, whoever came up with the idea for this commercial should be fired. Given all the racial tension around the world and police brutality brought to light in the news, this commercial seriously missed the mark. In the spot, Kendall is seen giving a cop a can of Pepsi, which stops a protest. So basically, Pepsi can solve everything. Poor, Kendall; she really didn't think this one through. And doing a huge Pepsi ad was probably going to be huge for her career. Well, it definitely got her some media attention, just not in a good way.

13 Kate And Will Have Baby #3

In September 2017, Kensington Palace announced that Will and Kate were expecting baby #3! Royal fans all over the world rejoiced. And that means that in 2018 we'll get a royal wedding for Harry and Meghan and another baby. It could not be a better year to be a fan of the young royals.

Apparently, Kate is due right around the time that Meghan and Harry are planning to tie the knot.

Hopefully, she's able to attend the wedding. We bet that Prince William will stand by his brother's side. And how cute will it be to see little George as a ring boy and Princess Charlotte as a flower girl? The cutest! Speaking of cute, the family released the above shot as their annual Christmas card. Last year they went for a more casual and candid shot, but this formal portrait is also pretty special.

12 The Golden Globes Are A Sea Of Black

In another show of solidarity, the women of Hollywood decided to wear all black to The Golden Globes. The men said they would too, but that's not hard as most of them were going to wear black tuxes anyway. So the men wore pins to show their support. This was all in an effort to bring greater power to the movement of women's equality and empowerment. Just before the Golden Globes, the women of Hollywood came up with the Time's Up movement. The movement says, "The clock has run out on assault, harassment, and inequality in the workplace. It's time to do something about it. Powered by women, TIME'S UP addresses the systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that has kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential."

11 Adele Breaks Her Grammy Award In Half

Back in February 2017, Adele pulled a stunt like Cady in Mean Girls. She had won for Song of The Year and Album of The Year. But when it came time for her to accept Album of The Year, Adele thought they had chosen the wrong artist.

While accepting, she accidentally broke her Grammy in half. But she explained that that was probably right since she didn't deserve to win.

Adele said, "I can't possibly accept this award. The Lemonade album was just so monumental, Beyoncé. It was so monumental and well thought-out and beautiful and soul-baring… we appreciate that. All of us artists here adore you. You are our light." Later, Adele added backstage, "I thought it was her year. What the f*** does she have to do to win Album of the Year?"

In 2014, George Clooney shocked the world when he ended his reign as Hollywood's bachelor and got married to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin. Even more shocking? George becoming a dad! In June 2017, Amal gave birth to the pair's twins. So not only was George becoming a dad at 55 years old but he was becoming a dad to twins. The twins, Ella and Alexander, totally changed George's life. In August, a few months after the twins were born, George shared his thoughts on parenthood, "Suddenly, you're responsible for other people, which is terrifying. I just have to clean the barf off of my tux. It used to be my barf but now it's the twins' barf. So it all works out." There are probably many first time dads who can relate to this sentiment. Congrats, George and Amal!

9 Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman Shows The Boys How It's Done

Like we've said, 2017 was a big year for the ladies. And the best representation of that was the success of Wonder Woman. This movie killed at the box office - proving that female-led superhero movies can make money. It starred a kick butt actress, Gal Gadot, and was directed by another kick-butt female director, Patty Jenkins.

The film made $821.9 million at the box office, making it the highest-grossing superhero origin film of all time.

The film broke barriers and had women of all ages crying happy tears. Finally, a superhero who has a bit of cellulite while she runs! And finally, female warriors who can fight in proper armor. And if that wasn't enough, Gal Gadot also came back to film reshoots while she was pregnant. She is the true Wonder Woman.

8 Lady Gaga Kills It At The Halftime Show

In February 2017, Lady Gaga gave us the show of a lifetime when she performed the halftime show at the Super Bowl. Fans got everything they wanted and more from Gaga's spectacular performance. For starters, she began by singing on the rooftop edge of the stadium and then jumping down (on a rope, of course) to the main stage. She then slayed some of her early classics like "Poker Face", "Born This Way", "Telephone" and "Just Dance". She showed us that she was still just as talented as she has always been. A decade in the spotlight wasn't slowing her down at all. She threw in aerial tricks, played a keytar, spiked a football and then climbed all over her keyboard to perform "Million Reasons". Gaga ended her set with "Bad Romance" and totally brought the house down. It wasn't a meat dress or arriving in an egg, but it was amazing.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been on-again-off-again since they made their first public appearance on the red carpet of the Vanity Fair Oscars after party in 2011. Teens everyone couldn't control their excitement over this pairing.

In the seven years since, they've broken up and got back together numerous times.

They have dated other people, wrote songs about one another and feuded on social media. And then in 2017, Selena stepped out with The Weeknd and we thought that was the end of Jelena. But nope, they had one more rekindle in them! Apparently, Justin reached out to Selena while she was going through her health problems and that was enough for this romance to reignite. The two were spotted on some adorable bike riding dates around town towards the end of 2017.

This one really crushes the soul. Anna Faris and Chris Pratt were one of the couples we thought were going the distance. They were adorable together. I mean, the two shared a hobby of collecting bugs! They have their sweet son, Jack, together. They were too cute on the red carpets. They couldn't stop gushing about one another in interviews. And they were always flirting and teasing one another on social media. They were the ultimate relationship goals. Until they weren't. These two are so beautiful, so talented and so real. They met in 2007 and began dating shortly after that. They were engaged in 2011 and married in 2013. John's song "All of Me" is dedicated to Chrissy. In 2015, they welcomed their daughter, Luna.

The couple struggled for many years to conceive and turned to IVF to help them have their daughter.

2018 started off on a happy note for crooner Ed Sheeran - he got engaged! Ed got engaged to his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn. The two have known each other since childhood but didn't start dating until 2015.

They attended the same high school but lost touch when Ed dropped out of school to focus on his music. He said that he always thought Cherry was the one.

Oprah was given the Cecil B DeMille Award at the Golden Globes to celebrate all of her achievements in film and television. Well deserved, of course. But even more impressive was the speech Oprah gave when she accepted the award.

In her speech, she took the time to honor an American woman who was a victim of extreme injustice that had recently passed away, Recy Taylor.

We were crying, cheering and pumping our first in the air. Here are some of Oprah's amazing words: "So I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon!
