Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have become quite the duo since first appearing on the hit CW show Supernatural.

“Whenever I drive under a yellow light, I always kiss my finger and tap it on the roof of the car.
And I do that when I get onto a plane as well!”

Well, according to Fame10, Jared Padalecki doesn't just play a smart role, he is actually extremely smart in real life. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from James Madison High School in 2000. Two years earlier, he won the National Forensics League national championship in Duo Interpretation, and in his senior year he was a Presidential Scholars Program candidate.
After high school he was supposed to attend the University of Texas to major in engineering, but then he decided to take off to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. Just like his co-partner, Jensen Ackles, did.

15 Before Acting, He Wanted To Study Sports Medicine
Jensen's love for sports goes even deeper than just playing different sports and following his favourite teams. His goal after high school was to attend Texas Tech University where he would study sports medicine to become a physical therapist.
According to Money Inc, he changed his mind and left the state of Texas before heading to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming an actor.
14 He Was On Days Of Our Lives For A While
When Jensen first moved out to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting, he played a number of small television roles including Michael Duss in Wishbone, Brad Rollins in Sweet Valley High, Malcom in Mr. Rhodes and David in Cybill.
Then he finally landed a permanent role as Eric Brady in the soap opera Days of Our Lives, as Money Inc reports. Eric Brady was a child of one of the biggest super-couples on the show and was known for being the most well-behaved out of a set of twins.
Jensen first started on the show in 1997 and continued to play the role of Eric Brady up until the year 2000, where he then decided to leave due to accepting a developmental deal with ABC. His character was then written off the show by making him move away after a heartbreaking break-up.
13 He Prefers To Keep His Personal Life Private
There are a lot of people who know who Jared Padalecki is, but he actually prefers to stay out of the spotlight. He also has anxiety, which, along with his self-consciousness, could contribute to him wanting to be so private. E! News reports that his anxiety has led him to launch a T-shirt campaign called "Always Keep Fighting" to benefit a non-profit organization that helps people who battle with mental health issues such as addiction, suicide and depression.

According to Fame10, the Supernatural star revealed to Variety that he battles with depression, saying “I, for a long time, have been passionate about people dealing with mental illness and struggling with depression, or addiction, or having [certain] thoughts.
I, in the past, have had my own struggles of not being so happy with where I am in life,
which is strange and I think it goes to show, maybe a lot of people don't know this, but [in] season three of Supernatural, we were shooting an episode, and I went back to my trailer to get changed and just kind of broke down.”
He adds, “A doctor came to set and talked to me for about 30 minutes or 45 minutes and said, 'Jared, I think you're clinically depressed. I think I should write you a note and we can shut down production for five days and then we can take it from there.”
11 He Won Awards For His Soap Opera Role
When Jensen Ackles first started on Days of Our Lives, it was his first serious and regular role.
He played it so well that he received quite a lot of positive attention for it, which helped him to pursue bigger and more successful adventures later on down the line.

Jensen Ackles originally auditioned for the role of Clark Kent, as Money Inc reports. He was turned down. Although he did not get the role of Superman in his younger days, he did get the role of Jason Teague in Smallville. This character was an antagonist to the great Clark Kent and also Lana Lang's love interest.
9 He Played Two Different Roles On Dark Angel
Around the same time Jensen Ackles auditioned for the role of Clark Kent on the hit TV show Smallville, he also auditioned for a role on James Cameron's Dark Angel, a show about a generally-engineered super-soldier on the run from government authorities in a post-apocalyptic world.
According to Money Inc, Jensen played one of the genetically-engineered super-soldiers who escaped the same facility at the same time as the lead character, played by Jessica Alba. Later on in the show he received a second role, the role of his previous character's clone, just a lot nicer and more stable then his predecessor. He continued the role until the show's cancelation in 2002.

When it comes to movies, Jensen Ackles has only done a few in his career. He was in the 2005 movie called Devour, in which he also starred with his father.
