All Grown Up 20 Pics Of What The Women Of TGIF Looked Like Then VS. Now
Like any celeb in Hollywood, we love to watch them grow in front of our very eyes. We also have guilty pleasures and love to keep tabs on those stars. For example, we all chatted about Taylor Swift's new album when it dropped, whether we like her or not. We all gushed over Meghan Markle and how lucky she was to be engaged to Prince Harry. Let's face it-- we love talking about celebrities.
This article gives us serious nostalgia because we take that love of celebrity women and we reminisce on ABC's 90's lineup of TGIF! TGIF, standing for "Thank God It's Friday", was ABC's first try on having a lineup of television shows. Their goal was to have people watch the whole entire block of shows, instead of just turn on the television to watch one before turning it off again.
Below we revisit twenty beauties from TGIF and what they look like now all grown up. From Michelle Tanner (times two) to Topanga to Sabrina the Teenage Witch, there are so many stars that look completely different than they do now, they're hardly recognizable. Don't worry, if there's any you don't recognize, we'll be sure to remind you what show they were on and where they are now! Enjoy!
20 Danielle Fishel: Boy Meets World Alum Grew Up Gorgeous
Topanga and Cory were our 1990s version of perfection, of forever love, and of high school sweethearts turned husband and wife. Danielle Fishel played Topanga on Boy Meets World from 1993-2000, becoming America's teenage sweetheart seemingly overnight. Everyone was rooting for her character and Cory (played by Ben Savage) to get together. This was her most popular role to this day, even though she has been seen in many other things, including Longshot; Yes, Dear; and the Boiling Pot. She also starred in the Disney reboot of Boy Meets World, entitled Girl Meets World. Even though we met her on our favorite 90s show at the young age of twelve, Fishel has grown up to be incredibly beautiful, mature, and smart. In our hearts, though, she will always be Topanga!
19 Melissa Joan Hart: Sabrina And Clarissa, Too
Melissa Joan Hart is probably one of the most famous and successful TGIF women on our list. From 1996 to 2000, Hart played Sabrina Spellman on Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. The show was so incredibly popular that The WB picked it up for three more seasons until its' end in 2003. Believe it or not, this wasn't even the show that shot her to fame. It was actually Clarissa Explains It All, which aired on Nickelodeon in the early 90s. Her role in Sabrina led her to other roles in movies like Can't Hardly Wait, Drive Me Crazy, and Rent Control. Even after the show ended, Hart had roles every year to date in various roles and forms. She is an unstoppable actress that we all will know and remember as Sabrina, the witch, with the black cat, Salem.
18 Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen: Tanner Twins
Okay, the actual most famous girls on this list come in the form of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the beautiful twins that played Michelle on the hit TGIF series Full House. Set in San Francisco, it followed Danny Tanner, a father who just lost his wife and has three little girls to raise. Mary-Kate and Ashley took turns playing the role of youngest daughter, Michelle Tanner. They grew up to be not only movie and TV show moguls, but fashion and beauty moguls as well, taking the world by storm in a plethora of ways. Some movies you may remember them in: Passport to Paris, Billboard Dad, Holiday in the Sun, and New York Minute. Most recently, they have taken a step out of the spotlight now that they are in their 30s, but they are still a force to be reckoned with no matter how many years go by.
17 Candace Cameron-Bure: Our Favorite DJ And Talk Show Host
Another one on our list that appeared on Full House, Bure played the oldest sister opposite Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's Michelle, Donna Tanner, nicknamed DJ for short. For eight seasons, DJ Tanner taught us about being the eldest sibling, lying to parents, high school, first kisses, and more. We loved her and we learned from her. After her stint as DJ, Bure went on to play other roles in several TV movies like Puppy Love, Finding Normal, and Journey Back to Christmas. Most recently, she took on her role as DJ Tanner once again in the reboot show Fuller House on Netflix. For ten years, she also co-hosted the infamous talk show, The View. One thing is for sure, Bure is one of our favorite sultry and smart women on this list!
16 Staci Keanan: Step By Step Big Sister
Staci Keanan is largely out of the spotlight now, but back during the famous TGIF lineup, she was our favorite oldest sister Dana Foster on the hit family show Step By Step. The show ran from 1991 to 1998 and had decently good reviews from critics, but was very popular among the American population. It chronicled the daily lives of Frank Lambert and Carol Foster, each of whom has three kids who don't get along. When the two decide last-minute to get married, each family moves in together and chaos, triumphs, and laughs ensue. After the show ended, Keanan went on to star in Sarah's Choice, You Again, and Death and Cremation. She went on to get her law degree and is now a lawyer in California.
15 Angela Watson: Karen Foster Steps Out Of The Spotlight
Much like her co-star (and big older sister on the show) Staci Keanan, Angela Watson took a step back from the spotlight after her famous days as ditzy and stuck-up (yet somewhat insecure) Karen Foster on the hit TGIF show Step By Step. She appeared on the show for the entire seven years before it ended. Watson then appeared in the movie Final Approach. After that, she seemingly fell off the radar. In 2000, she did appear in a stage production of How to Succeed in Business, but now does not act at all. However, during her 90s Step By Step days, Watson did serve on the Screen Actors Guild national board for several years. This is a board in which actors vote on actors for awards.
14 Marla Sokoloff: Full House Frenemy
Marla Sokoloff was not an incredibly popular main character on any of our hit TGIF lineup shows; however, she was very memorable in her own way during TGIF. Sokoloff played the enemy of middle sister Stephanie on the hit television show Full House. She appeared as the mean girl character, Gia, in seasons seven and eight, causing mayhem and drama for the Tanner sisters. Once she got a little older, Sokoloff went on to star in movies like Dude, Where's My Car?, Sugar & Spice, and Play the Game, among many small episode arcs on hit television shows like Friends and CSI: NY. Most recently she reprised her role as Gia in the reboot Fuller House on Netflix, giving all of our TGIF-loving hearts some great nostalgia!
13 Lori Loughlin: Ravishing Rebecca
Our favorite aunt Rebecca is one of the steamiest woman in our TGIF lineup from the 90s. Playing Uncle Jesse's girlfriend, eventual wife and mother of his children , Loughlin started her Full House stint in 1989 (season two). On the show, the two fell in love and had twin boys, causing an incredible storyline to continue the show even longer. After the show ended, she went on to star in Spin City, Summerland, 90210, and Ghost Whisperer. Like most Full House women on our list, she most recently reprised her role as Rebecca on the Netflix reboot Fuller House that has now run for three seasons and is still continuing. She is still just as beautiful and as sexy as ever, now at age 53!
12 Soleil Moon Frye: Sabrina's Sidekick
Soleil Moon Frye, with her unique name and long dark locks and all, played Roxy on the hit TGIF show Sabrina, the Teenage Witch alongside Melissa Joan Hart. Roxy was fiery, feisty, honest, and beautiful as one of Sabrina's college roommates. When the show ended, Frye voiced Jade in many of the Bratz movies. Otherwise, she lives a completely low-key life now out of the spotlight, yet we are lucky enough to still see her on red carpets, in reruns of Friends and Sabrina, and doing work for various charities. Regardless, her slim physique, pin-straight raven-colored hair, and megawatt smile makes her one of the steamist TGIF girls on our list. We will always remember her as our favorite human friend for Sabrina during her college years.
11 Raven-Symone: TGIF Child Star
Raven is now a household name for several reasons which we'll get to later, but she got her start on TGIF, did you know? In 1993, she starred as Nicole Lee on Hangin' with Mr. Cooper at the young age of just seven. After this, her career seemingly exploded overnight. She starred in movies Doctor Dolittle and Dr. Dolittle 2 alongside Eddie Murphy, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, and the Cheetah Girls sequels. She even landed her own Disney channel show That's So Raven from 2003-2007! After this she spent a little time off before jumping into the spotlight as a co-host on The View, bringing up some controversial issues and opinions of her own. No matter if she is herself or playing a character, we love her and will always remember her as that TGIF child star!
10 Christine Lakin: Tomboy Al Lambert All Grown Up
Christine Lakin is another Step By Step girl that took a step out of the spotlight after her famous stint on the TGIF show, but she didn't step out for too long. She played Alicia "Al" Lambert, Frank Lambert's gorgeous, spunky, and tomboyish daughter on Step By Step alongside Staci Keanan and Angela Watson. After this she starred in many shows and several movies like The Game Plan, Georgia Rule, Race to Witch Mountain, Valentine's Day, and Veronica Mars. She has also voiced many characters over the years on the hit controversial cartoon Family Guy. And, as we can see above, Lakin has grown to be as sensual and seductive as they come and one of the most beautiful women on our list.
9 Jurnee Smollett-Bell: Our Favourite Supporting Child Star Has Really Grown Up
Jurnee Smollett-Bell was one of the cutest child stars of the TGIF lineup. Heck, she was one of the cutest child stars of the 90s, period! At the young age of five, she starred as Denise Frazer on the TGIF show Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. Then, she reprised that role the same year on Full House alongside the Olsen twins as one of Michelle's friends in school. After these two TGIF stints, Smollett-Bell went on to star in Cosby, ER, Grey's Anatomy, and Friday Night Lights. Most recently and all grown up, she was on the hit HBO series True Blood. Now, she is not as much in the spotlight, but we will always remember her as little Denise Frazer with the adorably witty comments and that cute smile!
8 Lily Nicksay: Boy Meets Little Sister
Lily Nicksay was our first young actress that played Cory Matthew's little sister, Morgan, on Boy Meets World, alongside Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, among others. From 1993-1995, Nicksay played the witty and adorable little sister. But then she suddenly was replaced by Lindsay Ridgeway for reasons unknown. Boy Meets World was actually her very first acting gig. She went on to star in TV movies like The Christmas Box and Timepiece, as well as shows like Judging Amy, 8 Simple Rules, and The Mentalist. She even reprised her role for one episode on the Disney reboot Girl Meets World in 2017. She has managed to stay somewhat out of the spotlight, but she grew up to be a beautiful and sultry blonde, that's for sure!

6 Alexandra Adi: Two TGIF Shows For The Price Of One Pretty Lady
Another amazing looking lady on our list that has starred in not one but TWO TGIF shows is Alexandra Adi. First, she starred in Step By Step as Samantha Milano as J.T.'s girlfriend. At the age of 26, she starred in 13 episodes as this character. Next, she starred in one episode of Boy Meets World. She went on to star in the hit movie Jawbreaker as a cheerleader and American Pie as a college girl. Popular movies, yes, but she did not have major roles in either of these movies. She starred in minor movies from 2000 to 2011, until she had a 2 episode arc on CSI: Miami. Her last known role was in the movie, Dealing. She has not acted since 2012 and it is unknown what she is doing these days; however, Adi is one of the most beautiful women on our list, that's for sure!
5 Lindsay Sloane: Sabrina's Human BFF
Brunette beauty Lindsay Sloane got her start on hit shows like The Wonder Years and Mr. Rhodes, before landing the role of Valerie Birkhead, Sabrina's high school best friend, on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. She was just 20 years old when she landed this role. She starred on the show for two seasons before Sabrina went off to college. Then, she had a breakout role as Big Red in the hit cheerleading movie Bring It On. She has had many small roles since then but has worked consistently every year with her long dark locks and slim body. Most recently, she has starred in Horrible Bosses and Horrible Bosses 2, as well as in shows like Playing House and Psych. However, we will always remember her as Valerie, Sabrina's best friend!
4 Jenna Leigh Green: Bad Villain For Sabrina
Jenna Leigh Green also starred Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, alongside Lindsay Sloane and Melissa Joan Hart. She played mean girl Libby Chester from 1996-1999, landing this role when she was only eighteen years old. She went on to have one episode guest appearances in popular shows like ER, Cold Case, Ghost Whisperer, Castle, and Bones. She can be seen most recently in the hit ABC show Quantico. When she finished her stint as Libby Chester on Sabrina, she shifted into theatre, starring in shows like The Wizard of Oz and West Side Story in Los Angeles. She also became a cast member of Wicked in 2006. She also hit the theaters in London for a few years as well, seemingly shifting where she preferred to take her acting talent.
3 Tia And Tamara Mowry: Sister, Sister
These girls are household names in their own right. Tia and Tamara Mowry starred in True Colors and Full House before landing their own show called Sister, Sister in 1994. The show ran successfully for five years until it ended in 1999. The girls then went on to star in Seventeen Again, Twitches, and Twitches Too, both TV movies based off of their charm and wit and connection, before branching out on their own. They have since both done their own arcs in different television shows like Rosewood, Mistresses, and Melissa & Joey. Tia is the one twin that has been in the spotlight a bit more, but both twins have gotten married over the years and had children since their famous TGIF show that shot them to stardom.
2 Jodie Sweetin: Full House Middle Sister
Our last Full House woman on this list, Jodie Sweetin has also had quite the career (on and off the screen) since the hit TGIF show ended in 1995. Alongside Candace Cameron-Bure and the Olsen twins, Sweetin played adorably cute middle sister Stephanie Tanner. She was 13 when the show ended and went on to star in shows like Party of Five and Yes, Dear. She did some stints on TV movies as well but remained out of the spotlight, that is until her infamous photos of her dancing suggestively on a man surfaced for the whole world to see. Sweetin is known to have alcohol and narcotic problems, going to rehab for them a few years back. Now, she is clean and reprised her role as Stephanie on the Netflix reboot Fuller House.
1 Vivica A. Fox: One-Episode Wonder
One of the most popular and successful girls on our list, Vivica A. Fox had one tiny role on Family Matters years and years ago in 1992. She was 28 at the time. She went on to star in the soap The Young and the Restless, the movie Independence Day alongside Will Smith (as his stripper girlfriend), Kill Bill: Volumes 1 and 2 alongside Uma Thurman, and Ella Enchanted, where she played Lucinda the good witch! All these small supporting roles has made Fox a household name. Most recently, she starred in the sequel Independence Day: Resurgence reprising her role and in the hit Fox show Empire as Candace. IMDb states that she has 11 roles upcoming this year and the following year-- and we can't wait to see the amazing work she continues to do!
