What TV Couple Are You Based on Your Zodiac Sign
We all look for similarities between fictional characters and ourselves. It's what makes stories resonate. Sometimes, however, we find ourselves vibing with certain characters more than we expected. We notice similarities in their senses of humor, their responses to hardship, and even their approaches to relationships. If this has ever happened to you, then there's a possibility that you and the character have the same astrological sign. If you start to pay close attention to the dynamics of their various relationships, then you'll probably even start to notice some parallels with your own relationships.
For your entertainment - and ours - we've compiled a list of iconic TV couples that share traits with you and your significant other based on your sign. For simplicity's sake, we're not taking into account the most recent agreed-upon set of zodiac dates. All of these characters are firm believers in the pre-2017 zodiac calendar. Remember this list the next time you and your S.O. are arguing about something dumb. You might be able to use Carrie and Big as a model for working things out!
Enjoy!
12 Taurus (April 20 - May 20): Sheldon Cooper and Amy Fowler
If you're a Taurus, then there's a good chance that you and your S.O. are Shamy from The Big Bang Theory! Tauruses can be independent, hardworking and stubborn - like Sheldon - but they can also be romantic and family-oriented. Perhaps, like Sheldon, you have high standards for your relationship and for where you see each other in the next ten (or fifty) years. We just hope that, unlike Shamy, you have more than one Date Night a month and more than one Sex Night a year!
Just hope that you don't ever break up. If you're the kind of Taurus who threatens your S.O. with self-harm or self-induced starvation if they ever leave you, then you're more likely to suffer a complete breakdown if things ever go down hill. It's a little co-dependent (like Shamy!), but you'll be totally fine when you inevitably meet a new person to sleep with less than two weeks after your breakup.
11 Gemini (May 21 - June 20): Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big
Inquisitive, extroverted, and expressive, Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw is the perfect Gemini. Part of the reason she ends up with Mr. Big is her ability to effectively express her needs and desires to her partners. However, Gemini tend to be fickle, so if you think you've met Mr. (or Mrs.) Big, then tie them down immediately!
If you're already together, then keep up your channels of communication and try not to question yourself too much. Some of Carrie's flaws included her constant indecisiveness and her misjudgment about her own romantic desires. Mr. Big may have been a master manipulator - and maybe even ultimately wrong for Carrie - but we hold out hope that Carrie (and you) will be able to navigate the way into a long, fulfilling relationship.
And in case you're wondering: When Gemini break up, they tend to hope their exes will be bored and unfulfilled for the rest of their lives. That shouldn't be hard: Nothing can quite beat dating Carrie Bradshaw!
10 Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Leonard and Penny Hofstadter
We couldn't leave you with just one Big Bang couple. Like Leonard (and Cancers in general), you're loyal and compassionate. Throughout all the drama and wrong turns, you still manage to keep a firm grasp on where your relationship should be headed. Emotional intuition and dependability are characteristics of Cancers, and you frequently rely on those strengths when working on your relationship. Beware of mood swings, however: If you feel emotions more deeply than most people, then it might start to affect your S.O. (Can you count how many times Penny has gotten frustrated with Leonard's neediness? We can't either.)
If you and your S.O. have overcome great differences and cleared even greater obstacles, then you're already on track for a perfect long-lasting romance. But if things are starting to get boring after eight seasons together, don't fret: Your friends are still interesting! Maybe it's time to invite Sheldon and Amy for a dinner party.
9 Leo (July 23 - August 22): Jen Lindley and Dawson Leery
Before Michelle Williams was a movie star, she was spending six seasons on Dawson's Creek acting like the perfect fictional embodiment of a love-smitten Leo. Although Jen Lindley was frequently caught up in drama and controversy, she was always able to embrace her shortcomings and forge stronger relationships because of it. In life and in love, Jen was never afraid to speak her mind - and you shouldn't be, either. If you want things to stay simpatico with your Dawson, then you've gotta keep it real.
Like Jen and Dawson, you and your S.O. have been through some stuff - but you've always managed to find each other afterwards. Everyone around you has been rooting for you, even when they didn't think it was going to work out. We just hope that your S.O. doesn't have an embarrassing crying face. Then your arguments - if you even have any - might actually become unbearable.
8 Virgo (August 23 - September 22): Monica and Chandler Bing
Are you shrewd, sharp, nit-picky, and perhaps a little anal? If you're any of these things, then you - and your TV counterpart, Monica - can thank your sign. You might be a little snarky or anal retentive, but that's all part of being a typical Type A analytical Virgo. If your partner is a little looser around the edges, like Chandler, then that's even better: You have someone to make in your own image. Sure, your Chandler might get annoyed with your nitpicking, but he or she will always come around in appreciating your helpful advice and problem-solving skills. Your reliability and your aptitude at reading situations have probably gotten the both of you out of less-than-ideal scenarios before. You also complement each other in ways you don't often think about. Does your Chandler keep you surprised? Sane? Warm and open? Do you keep them on their toes? Healthy? Eating their organic kale smoothies? Voila! The perfect balance.
7 Libra (September 23 - October 22): Rory Gilmore and Jess Mariano
Most people love Libras. Whether they're shy and awkward or friendly and outgoing, they're always open-minded and approachable. Like Rory Gilmore, you have a warmth about you that makes people want to open up to you. You're also more likely to succumb to peer pressure and other people's influence - like Rory did before finding her greatest love, Jess. Though he was the classic bad boy, Rory's compassion and diplomacy allowed her to see past Jess's rough exterior and love him for who he was. She also managed to balance her romance with Jess with all of the other conflicting forces in her life.
Like Rory and Jess, you and your S.O. understand each other on a deeper level than others realize. Thankfully, you've found each other at the right time in life; otherwise, we'd have to watch you tiptoe the line of a full-on relationship without ever going there. If only Rory and Jess had met at a different time! Ugh!
6 Scorpio (October 23 - November 21): Mickey and Minnie Mouse
Is your S.O. a Scorpio too? If so, then this is even more perfect. Minnie and Mickey Mouse are actually both Scorpios, which might explain why they've been together for 88 years (and are still going strong.) Ever since their first kiss in an airplane in a 1929 short - after which Minnie promptly jumped out of the plane - Minnie (full name Minerva) and Mickie have been the picture-perfect couple for countless generations of Americans. Like these two, you and your S.O. can take turns being impassioned, stubborn, secretive, thrifty, vengeful, loyal, and jealous. You complement each other, but you can also drive each other crazy (maybe not plane-jumping crazy, but close enough).
By the way, we don't want to overload you with cuteness right now, but the real life people who voiced Mickey and Minnie have also been together forever! Russi Taylor, who voiced Minnie married Wayne Allwine, who voiced Mickey, in 1991. They were married until Wayne's death in 2009. However, unfortunately they're not Scorpios.
5 Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21): Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy
OK, this is kind of cheating, but Lizzy Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy are such an iconic couple - and they've definitely appeared on TV as part of the miniseries starring Colin Firth. We couldn't not include them.
Like Lizzy, you've been known to make quick but rash decisions in the past. Lizzy's refusal to obey convention led her to Darcy in the end, but it also got her in a bit of trouble in the time leading up to her happy ending. She was a tad direct and tactless sometimes, which prompted others to reflect upon their own errors in judgment.
With your appreciation for philosophizing and strong sense of morals, you and Lizzy still embody the best characteristics of Sagittarius. You and your S.O. have a sense of adventure between you, and you're bound to have an exciting and fulfilling relationship. Keep being bold and brave, and you and Mr. Darcy will have plenty more stories to tell in the years to come.
4 Capricorn (December 22 - January 19): Buffy Summers and Angel
Buffy never really got over Angel - and their relationship challenged her at every step of the way - but they were never less than soulmates. He was the perfect foil to her ambition, bravery, idealism, and wit. Like Buffy, you enjoy getting involved in the world around you and trying to improve it, and you're often worried about whether you're doing the right thing. Though you're an optimist through and through, you can also be practical when the situation calls for it. Like many Capricorns, you and Buffy want to have it all - the job, the guy, and the reputation for saving the world. Your S.O. has definitely challenged you along the way, but he or she wants nothing more than for you to have everything you've ever dreamed of. However, if at some point your S.O. turns into a soulless demon hellbent on destroying everything and everyone you've ever loved, then please don't blame us.
3 Aquarius (January 20 - February 18): Bert and Ernie
Bert and Ernie are practically a confirmed couple, and their relationship success is partially due to their shared Aquarius sign. Between the two of them, they share the best Aquarius traits: rebellious, off-beat, loyal, inventive, and humanitarian. Bert can be a little high-strung and aloof (which is typical of an Aquarius), but only because he has to put up with so many hair-brained schemes from his man. Your S.O. might find that you can be a little aloof, too, but your honesty and loyalty will win them over in the end.
Like Bert and Ernie, you and your S.O. have serious long-term potential thanks to your ability to keep each other grounded. Just remember that as an Aquarius, you have a great sense of creativity and fun - so bring that into your relationship! In the end, just feel lucky that you've found someone who has accepted all of your quirks - willingly or not. And try not to drive your partner crazy!
2 Pisces (February 19 - March 20): Michael Scott and Holly Flax
Michael Scott cycled through a seemingly endless series of women on The Office, but no one captured his heart and imagination quite like Holly. The two were practically male and female versions of the same person: Goofy, friendly, idealistic, slightly insensitive, and slightly perverted. You may not be surprised to know that they share a sign as well. Like the best Pisces, Michael and Holly can be kind and creative when they're not being incredibly insufferable. Their dreams can be unrealistic, but at least they dream together.
Like Michael and Holly, you and S.O. know how to have fun and you like to encourage each other's dreams. You may or may not have go-to Yoda impressions or a shared penchant for sexual innuendos, but you certainly feel comfortable around each other. If things go well, you could end up like Michael and Holly - happily ever after (give or take the three children!)
1 Aries (March 21 - April 19): Lois and Peter Griffin
Aries can be independent, romantic, clever and assertive - and Lois Griffin fits all of those characteristics to a tee. Despite being married to an idiot in the not-so-glamorous fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island, Lois manages to rise above her station by tapping into a bottomless well of optimism. She's also still 100% in love with Peter Griffin, despite his complete lack of self-awareness and countless family-endangering mistakes. Plus, it would be impossible not to be clever and assertive when regularly maneuvering through Peter Griffin's buffoonery.
Just like Lois and Peter, you and your S.O. have been through thick and thin. You stand by each other even when you hit a tough spot or when one of you has a few too many at The Drunken Clam. You probably don't have a talking dog in your house, but if you did, then you'd have a lot of fun with the situation.
