Here's The 14 Most Anticipated Weddings Of 2018 (And 4 Celeb Babies)
2018 has only just begun, but we've already seen a number of celebrities the knot, including Ricky Martin, Amy Schumer, and Ellen Page. But this is just the beginning! This year is gearing up to be an exciting one in the romance department. There are quite a few A-listers that announced engagements at the end of last year, and we're hopeful that most of them will tie the knot before the end of 2018. Here's a list of the upcoming weddings we're most excited about this year, and some predictions as to when we'll get to see these famous couples walk down the aisle.
Of course, we couldn't leave out the one thing that can top a celebrity wedding; celebrity babies! This list features two starlets planning to make additions to their families, and two famous first-time moms! Marriage may not always last, but children are forever. It's so exciting to wonder which of these kids will follow their famous parents' footsteps, and what bizarre names they may be given…
18 Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, May 19th, 2018
Mark your calendars, her soon to be royal highness Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their wedding date of Saturday, May 19th late last year, and it's undoubtedly going to be one of the most anticipated weddings of this decade!
Invitations for the summer wedding have already have gone out. Sadly, it seems ours got lost in the mail.
Among those expected to attend are family friend Elton John, The Spice Girls, Barack and Michelle (no invite for Donald), and even two of Harry's exes.
The wedding is expected to take place at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. However, the preparations are not all as glamorous as they may seem. In between cake tastings and selecting centerpieces, the soon to be princess has also had to find time to undergo defense training in order to deal with threats and potential kidnappers. We can't imagine how much more stressful that makes wedding planning!
17 Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn, Summer 2018
Ed sparked rumors that he was already married to his childhood friend and new fiancé Cherry Seaborn earlier this year when he was spotted wearing a band on that finger. As it turns out, it's just an engagement ring. Ed has always marched to the beat of his own drum, so he decided to forego tradition and wear one despite the fact that most men don't. During a radio interview, he admitted that an added bonus is that “nobody will know when we have got married.”
Though we suspect the pair will be getting married in late summer, Ed is clearly not keen to share the details. What we do know is that he recently applied for a permit to build a chapel on his property in Surrey, England so the plans are clearly underway. All we can say is that Cherry is one lucky girl, what could be more romantic than getting married in a chapel built specifically for your wedding? Swoon.
16 Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre, Wedding Date TBD
It may not seem like good news that the devastatingly handsome Idris Elba is off-the-market, but he is clearly happy with his gorgeous lady. Idris proposed to Sabrina, an American actress and model of Somalian descent, at a screening for his new film last month. In these times of flash mob and helicopter proposals, Idris' proposal was surprisingly simple, but romantic nevertheless.
Since the two are newly engaged, we suspect it may be a while before they walk down the aisle.
Idris has been married twice before, and previously claimed that he wasn't going to walk down the aisle again. In 2017 he confessed to Essence, “Am I ever going to get remarried? I don't think so.” You know what they say, never say never!
15 Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, Late 2018
Like the final season of Game Of Thrones, fans will have to exercise patience as they anticipate this wedding. Joe and Sophie are reportedly waiting until GOT is done filming to even begin planning! These two are still pretty young (Joe is 28 and Sophie is 22) and they've only been dating for a little more than a year, so they'll most likely take their sweet time planning.
Few details have been released about the wedding as a result, but we do know that Sophie's GOT co-star and real-life BFF Masie Williams is going to be one of the bridesmaids. It wouldn't be crazy to assume that Joe will have his brothers Nick and Kevin (and bonus Frankie Jonas) as his groomsmen, so it's already guaranteed to be a star-studded wedding. Perhaps there'll even be a celebratory JoBro performance. One can only hope…
14 Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, Late 2018
After initially stirring up romance rumors in 2012, Game of Thrones co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie dated for a while before briefly splitting up. The pair rekindled their relationship in early 2016, and this time we hope it's for good! Kit and Rose got engaged in September 2017, and they've been going strong since. However, it may be a while before we see these two walk down the aisle.
Game of Thrones's demanding filming schedule is apparently getting in the way of not one but two weddings.
While Kit (aka Jon Snow) is busy filming GOT's final season, Rose has also been preoccupied filming season two of CBS's The Good Fight. Rose admits that she and Kit haven't started planning, though it's possible that she's simply trying to keep their wedding date away from the press!
13 Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook, Summer 2018
Second time's the charm for Kaley Cuoco, who is engaged to her boyfriend of almost two years, Karl Cook. Cook is a professional equestrian and the son of billionaire Scott Cook. We're happy Kaley was able to find love again after finalizing her divorce with her husband of 21 months, Ryan Sweeting, in May of 2016.
Even throughout the divorce proceedings, Kaley remained optimistic about her future. She confessed to CBS This Morning back in 2016, “I know I will [fall in love] again.” Her optimism was rewarded soon after when she met Karl at a horse show. The two bonded over their shared love of horses and Karl is even cool with Kaley's close relationship with her ex-boyfriend and Big Bang Theory co-star Johnny Galecki.
12 Tori Kelly and Andre Murillo, Winter 2018
Tori has kept her relationship with German basketball player Andre Murillo relatively private. However, the Grammy-nominated singer did take to Instagram to announce her engagement late last year. We may not know much about her mystery man, but we do know he grew up in Southern California, like Tori, despite being born in Germany.
Murillo previously played basketball in Germany before suffering from an ankle injury early last year that led to him returning to the states to spend time with family and friends. The couple's Instagram page shows that they're an incredibly photogenic duo. No word yet on just when the couple plans to tie the knot, or what country they'll be settling in, but we suspect there's no rush, so perhaps a winter wedding?
11 Darren Criss and Mia Swier, Summer 2018
It's been a long road to marriage for these two. Darren and Mia have been dating for SEVEN YEARS, which is practically an eternity in Hollywood. Darren announced his engagement to Mia, a writer and musician, in January of this year. Following the celebrity trend of announcing engagements on social media, Darren took to Instagram to say, “Mia and I have had seven and a half years of fun, wacky, wonderful, CRAZY adventures together. And I'm happy to announce that we're kicking those adventures up a notch.”
The couple has been dating since before Darren got famous, and since Mia isn't in the spotlight, not much is known about her.
"Understated" seems to be more of this couple's style, so we suspect it won't take long to plan the wedding.
10 Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk, TBD
It seems that Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's “unconscious coupling” has finally reached completion. The 45-year old Gwyneth announced in her magazine, Goop, that she was engaged to her boyfriend, screenwriter and director, Brad Falchuk, after almost three years of dating. Gwyneth and Coldplay singer Chris Martin are famous for the close relationship they maintained after splitting up in 2014. However, it seems that Chris has welcomed Brad into the family with open arms. In Touch Weekly has even reported that Gwyneth asked Chris to give her away (Gwyneth's dad passed away in 2002). While this may seem odd to some, it also demonstrates the strength of Gwyneth's relationship with Brad. Overall, we're pretty optimistic about Gwyneth's second go at marriage. Like Gwyneth, Brad also has two kids from a previous decade-long marriage, and sources say that the pair's kids get along well. Not everyone is lucky enough to have that kind of harmony after divorce!
9 Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith, Summer 2018
Teen idol and This Is Us star Mandy Moore is engaged to Taylor Goldsmith, a member of the folk-band Dawes. These two's modern-day love story began over Instagram when Mandy posted a picture calling the band's new album the “soundtrack of [her] summer.” Taylor apparently reached out to her after seeing the post. After emailing back and forth for a while, the two decided to go on a date, and now they're engaged! So maybe there's hope Harry Styles will see all those posts we've dedicated to him over the years?
Mandy has graciously shared a few details about the wedding, admitting that she won't be wearing white and that she'll “probably be keeping it really small.”
She posted pictures of her adorable but low-key engagement tea party months ago, and it's proved that her wedding is going to be Pinterest goals. Though she didn't volunteer a date, Mandy told E! News that the wedding would happen “sooner rather than later,” so we can hope for a summer wedding!
8 Ashley Greene and Paul Khoury
The award for longest engagement goes to Twilight star Ashley Greene, who has been engaged to her fiancé Paul Khoury since December 2016. Paul, an Australian TV personality that also happens to be Liam Hemsworth's best friend, proposed to Ashley more than a year ago while they were vacationing in Australia. The pair has been dating since 2013, but they're clearly in no rush to tie the knot. Despite the lack of wedding plans, the couple's social media shows they are very much happy in the present. Even after all these years together, the two are constantly dedicating adorable Instagram posts to each other. When People asked Ashley about the wedding last year, she said: “my mother is already planning, [but] we're definitely not rushing.” Still, we're optimistic that 2018 is the year for these lovebirds, so here's to hoping!
7 Paris Hilton and Chris Zylka, Winter 2018
Congratulations are in order for Paris Hilton and Chris Zylka, who announced their engagement a few months ago after about a year of dating. You've probably seen that absolutely HUGE engagement ring on Paris' finger, which has reportedly been valued at $2 million. And we thought Kay Jewelers was a splurge.
Chris may not be as well-known as the famous heiress he's marrying, but don't be surprised if he looks a bit familiar. The actor has starred in a number of hit shows; everything from Hannah Montana, to The Secret Circle, and that ol' 10 Things I Hate About You reboot. Chris attended college for a time before boldly dropping out to move to LA. He was even homeless for a while before being discovered by his manager. Flash forward a decade later and Chris is engaged to one of the world's wealthiest heiresses. If that isn't a fairytale ending we don't know what is.
6 Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara, Winter 2018
Throughout her career, Meghan was always been vocal about her desire to find love, and it's made her happy ending even more meaningful. The 24-year-old singer credits her friend Chloe Grace Moretz for introducing her to her fiancé, Daryl Sabara. Meghan told Chelsea Handler, “Day one of meeting [Chloe] I was like, 'You know anybody that I could date? Or love? Whatever.'” She is proof that sometimes it pays to just ask for what you want!
Meghan and Daryl (you might remember him from the Spy Kids films) have been inseparable since they began dating almost two years ago. Daryl was even there for Meghan during her second vocal surgery.
She couldn't talk for three months after the surgery, and she told Ellen last year that Daryl learned sign language so he could communicate with her.
Since he proposed on her birthday last year, we're thinking they may also choose that special date for the wedding. Can you say relationship goals?
5 Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons, Spring 2018
In an interview with Marie Claire last year, Kirsten confessed she was ready to start a family. She admitted, “I've been working since I was 3. It's time to have babies and chill.” Sometimes the universe has a way of giving you exactly what you want!
US Weekly reported that Kirsten is set to wed her Fargo co-star Jesse Plemons in Austin this Spring, which means the wedding is probably just a few weeks away! The duo met on the set of Fargo in 2015, where they played a married couple. It's suspected that Jessie proposed during the weekend of the Golden Globes last year after about nine months of dating.
The two are notoriously private about their relationship. When asked for details about the wedding by Entertainment Tonight, Kirsten coyly admitted, “we have a time frame, but that's private!” Looks like the cat's out of the bag! We're so excited to see what the future holds for these two.
(And 4 Celeb Babies)
4 Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, Due Early April 2018
There must be something in the water over at the Kardashian house! Khloe revealed a week ago that she was eight months along with her first pregnancy, which means the next little Kardashian is due in just a few weeks. After the birth of Kimye's third child, Chicago West last month and Kylie's first child Stormi just a few days later, this would make her little girl the third Kardashian child born this year.
Khloe sparked a bit of controversy after seeming less than thrilled to learn that she was having a girl on the season finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
However, we're sure it was just as surprising to her as she seemed pretty confident that she was having a boy. Admittedly, the Kardashian-Jenner baby ratio has been forever skewed in the girls' direction, so we're surprised that she was expecting a boy.
As far as names go, Khloe admitted on Twitter that she is considering continuing the “K” name tradition, but is still undecided. Looks like we won't have to wait long to find out what she chooses. Let the countdown begin!
3 Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, Due Late May 2018
When we think of relationship goals, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are probably the first couple that spring into our heads. Now, they're also family goals. Chrissy is pregnant with the couple's second child, a little brother for their one-year-old daughter Luna. Known for her endless wit and relatable social media posts, Chrissy has remained candid about the good, the bad, and the ugly of pregnancy, including her fertility struggles. Both she and John have talked about the fact that they used in vitro fertilization to conceive their daughter Luna, as well as their unborn son. Chrissy caused some controversy in the past for picking the sex of her baby. She told People, “… I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her up and was like 'let's put in the girl.'” However, Chrissy is pregnant with her last embryo from the IVF process, which happens to be a boy, so hopefully, that will put the controversy to rest!
2 Stephen and Ayesha Curry, Due Mid-July 2018
The world's cutest couple, Stephen and Ayesha Curry, already have two children, six-year-old Riley, and three-year-old Ryan. Last month, Ayesha took to Instagram to announce her third pregnancy with the hashtag #curryfor3.
The couple has been married since 2011, but they've been together for fourteen years since they met as teenagers at a church youth group.
We hardly know how the power couple can handle adding another baby to their already busy lives. Stephen, a Golden Warrior, is in the prime of his career and considered by many to be the greatest shooter the NBA has ever seen. Meanwhile, Ayesha is a Covergirl, restaurateur, and Food Network host. So far, they've always managed to prioritize their ever-growing family, so we're confident they'll keep doing just that!
1 Rachel McAdams and Jamie Linden, Due Late May 2018
In May, E! News reported that The Notebook star, Rachel McAdams is expecting her first child. Sadly, it's not Ryan Gosling's (at least we don't think so). The father is believed to be Dear John writer, Jamie Linden, whom Rachel has been romantically linked to since April of 2016. She has kept her relationship very private and continues to do the same with her pregnancy. Last month, she was noticeably absent from the premiere of her new film, Game Night. She has not confirmed the news, nor has she been pictured since November.
If the rumors are true, Rachel will be due in late May. At this rate, it seems she just may remain in hiding until the baby's born. Hopefully, we'll get to meet her little bundle of joy at some point!
