It's hard to believe that it's almost 2018. Yes, let that sink in. Time goes by so fast and so many changes happened throughout the year. It is safe to say that 2017 was one of the roughest years in Hollywood history with changes that rocked the world - both good and bad. New Years is a time to reflect on what we did and what we can learn from and move past. There is just something refreshing about a new year that awaits, and it just feels like a fresh slate is in store for all of us (well, at least some of us that aren't plagued by scandal at this point). There were so many turning points in our society that made us look at Hollywood culture in a completely different light. There were also more happy times in 2017 that were to be celebrated.

What fascinates us the most about celebrities is the fact that we would like to think that they are just like the rest of us, and they are in a sense, and that we go through the same ups and downs as they do. Whether it be getting married, going through a break up, or having a baby, we live vicariously through them because they are a reflection of our everyday lives (minus the huge bank account).

2017 was a volatile but exciting time to be alive.

20 Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Expecting Third Child Via Surrogate

It looks like 2017 has been a fertile time of year for the Kardashian brood. Since Kim Kardashian had a hard time with her first two pregnancies with her placenta accreta condition and can't biologically bear more children herself, they are using artificial insemination to impregnate a surrogate for a third child. She told People magazine that she “was never going to let herself get pregnant again” and initially “felt two healthy kids were enough,” she eventually had a change of heart. It looks like there can never be too many kids for the Kardashians since Kim and Kanye West will stop at nothing to keep expanding their family. Kim Kardashian and her sisters seem to have baby fever now with the newly announced pregnancies of Khloe and Kylie. Hopefully this time around, the third time is the charm.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months, you have heard about the great exposure of Harvey Weinstein and his obscene, disgusting proclivities throughout the years. Many big name actresses came forward and told their stories about how he harassed them into doing certain favors for him in order to advance his career. Sadly, he isn't the first big name perverted producer in Hollywood with the power to control the careers of so many aspiring actresses.

Even looking at him, he seems like someone that would try to coerce you right onto his clutches.

The man literally looks like the human incarnate of Jabba the Hutt. It's not that we are trying to make light of this phenomenon, but come on. If you thought that whole acting couch culture was something that was outdated and only happened in movies, you were sadly mistaken.

Well, no onto some happier news (well maybe not so happy news for those of us who have a crush on Prince Harry). Yes, the world's most eligible bachelor Prince Harry is officially off the market and engaged to the lucky, gorgeous American actress, Meghan Markle. She will be a breath of fresh air and a new influence to the royal family in the fact that she is a modern woman in every sense of the word. Compare to Kate Middleton all you want, but there is really no comparison between her and Meghan Markle at the end of the day. They are two completely different individuals. Luckily enough for this match, neither Prince Harry nor Meghan will feel the same pressure as William and Kate to live up to royal standards. After all, they are not next in line for the throne. We can only envy her and admire her at the same time.

17 Kevin Spacey Accused of Inappropriate Misconduct

Ah, yes. This one broke all of our hearts because Kevin Spacey was a man who brought so much joy through the many characters that he played. House of Cards was Netflix's flagship TV show and it put Kevin Spacey on the map as arguably one of the greatest actors of our generation. Actor Anthony Rapp came forward claiming that back in the '80s, a 26-year-old Kevin Spacey took advantage of him when he was only 14 years old.

Shortly thereafter, many production assistants on the set of House of Cards came forward and accused him of misconduct.

He later made a statement saying that the situation with Anthony Rapp was due to drunken behavior and took that as an opportunity to come out of the closet. Sorry, Kevin. Being gay does not have anything to do with the abuse that has caused others pain. We will try to remember him for the actor that he once was.

16 Kylie Jenner Gets Pregnant

Though Kylie Jenner has still not gone public with her pregnancy, paparazzi shots of her growing baby bump reveal that clearly she is with child. It shocked us all to hear that the youngest of the Kardashian clan is preggers from the likes of boyfriend Travis Scott. The 20-year-old is not even old enough to drink legally, so it just makes our heads spin that she is pregnant. Oh yeah, and her older sis Khloe Kardashian is pregnant as well, but she is in her 30's so that is hardly news. Luckily for Kylie, she has the love and support of her sisters who are already mothers so they can give her the rundown on what its like. The relationship between Kylie and her boyfriend, 25-year-old Travis Scott apparently "has not been going well" according to Us Weekly. Lucky for her, she has that Kardashian fortune to lean on unlike many other young girls experiencing unplanned pregnancy at her age.

Hugh Hefner's death at the age of 91 had been a long time coming just because… well, he was old. In the aftermath of his death, there was much talk about the mistreatment of the women who lived at the Playboy Mansion and the way he controlled them. Though he was a pioneer and ahead of his time when he started Playboy, former girlfriend Holly Madison wrote a tell all novel about her experience as a Playboy bunny and as his former lover. He gave them 9pm curfews, made derogatory comments about their weight/appearance, pitted them against each other and even went so far as to censor what they were allowed to talk about (no politics or intelligent subjects). we can almost consider his death as a hopeful end to this misogyny

Oh boy, where do we begin with this one? Yes, it was confirmed that Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are officially back together three years after calling it quits and writing nasty songs about each other. After dating The Weeknd for a little less than a year, Selena Gomez decided to end things with him and get back together with boy wonder Biebs. 23-year-old Bieber and 25-year-old Gomez were first spotted together reuniting at her house in the Studio City neighborhood in Los Angeles in late October. Even though she was with The Weeknd for 10 months, friends say that it was obvious that she still had feelings for Justin Bieber. And who could blame her? He is clearly the most eligible bachelor in America (please say that you pick up on the sarcasm).

13 Bill Cosby Goes On Trial

The accusations brought against Bill Cosby began back in 2015 have recently boiled to the surface as he starts to stand trial from his past blatant indiscretions. He currently faces charges of drugging and inappropriately assaulting women dating back decades ago. The first witness admitted under oath that before she was assaulted, she was given pills giving her the inability to consent and the inability to say no.

The 79-year-old former TV star once known as America's favorite dad had victimized countless victims.

In a nutshell, he would disguise himself as a mentor to help young women with their budding careers (whether it was a professional athlete, actress or singer) to lure them into his apartment and then go in for the kill. If he is convicted, he faces 10 years in prison.

12 Prince William and Kate Middleton Expecting Third Child

Yes it is true that the Royal Family is spreading their spawn and expanding onto a new family member. It was confirmed that Kate Middleton was indeed pregnant with her third child and she is due in April 2018. Unfortunately, she suffers from acute morning sickness but that certainly isn't cramping her style since she is always rocking the classiest maternity wear. Rumor has it that if the baby is a girl, that she will name her after the late Princess Diana. It looks like this is exciting news for Prince William and Kate as the third time hopefully will be the charm. These two are the prime examples of what Queen Elizabeth wants from the Royal Family where Prince William and Meghan Markle are the more modern day couple. Who will it be? A he or a she? Time Magazine recently came out with a new 2017 issue called "The Silence Breakers" crediting the women who have come forward and told their story about how they were victimized inappropriately. So many big name actresses, singers, female politicians and even some not-so-famous women have worked up the courage to come forward and expose their abusers for who they are: the scumbags of the world.

This is a classic case where social media is actually good for society.

The #MeToo movement has provided a sense of community where women can feel comfortable enough to speak out against powerful men who are ruthless enough to exploit their clout over the masses. Indeed, the #MeToo movement has been a huge phenomenon that is gaining momentum and hopefully will help put an end to this disgusting behavior that occurs everywhere from Hollywood to Washington DC. We can only hope that this will scare many men from acting upon their nasty impulses… keyword being hopefully.

10 Kendall Jenner Bombs a Pepsi Commercial

Pepsi received a lot of backlash for its commercial featuring Kendall Jenner. The premise of the story line was Kendall entering a Black Lives Matter protest only to stop it because *drum roll* she started handing out Pepsi to the police and protesters. Perhaps if the Black Lives Matter movement was led by a 21-year-old privileged white girl who happens to be a reality TV star, then maybe everyone would just get along. It seemed that Pepsi meant well in trying to convey a peaceful message, but it was just an epic fail. Needless to say, they had to pull the commercial from being aired any further. We can't all blame it on Kendall Jenner since she was just a pawn. It was someone else's genius idea to write that commercial therefore its more the the brand of Pepsi's fault than it is hers.

9 Pippa Middleton Gets Married

For once in a long time, Pippa Middleton was out of the shadow of her older sister, Kate Middleton when she got her fairy tale wedding to her financier husband James Matthews in May 2017. She glowed in a classic fitted lace gown where Kate Middleton served as the bridesmaid and her niece Princess Charlotte was the flower girl.

(since she and Prince Harry were probably trying to keep their relationship under wraps at that time). Even being the younger sister of Kate Middleton has its benefits: you still live in wealth and luxury, there is no doubt about that. 8 George and Amal Clooney Have Twins

In June 2017, George and Amal Clooney welcomed two fraternal twins into this world, a girl and boy by the names of Ella and Alexander. When asked about the wins, George jokingly revealed: "They're actually 22-years-old. Grown little people." What is even more insane is that just three months later in September, Amal returned back to work ready to save humanity again. "She has mixed emotions about going back," the insider said. "She has loved every minute of the summer with the twins and will miss them immensely, but she is also is looking forward to resuming her career work and getting back to it." In an interview at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, George presumably spilled the beans on their twins showing a snapshot of the two of them. He said, "That's Amal's eyes, I know. Thank God!"

7 The Mass Shooting During a Jason Aldean Concert

2017 was a shocking year for shootings and small scale terrorist attacks. On October 1st, 2017 at the Route 91 country music festival at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas, 59 people were killed and 527 people were injured during a Jason Aldean concert. This has been marked as the deadliest shooting in modern day history.

The shooter was identified as 64-year-old Stephan Paddock of Mesquite,

Nevada and he was not associated with any terrorist groups. He shot himself before police were able to find him and arrest him on the scene. Jason Aldean expressed his sorrow on social media and described it as "beyond horrific" and expressed how scared, angry and heartbroken he was over the massacre. “Something has changed in this country and in this world lately that is scary to see,” he said in a statement posted on Twitter. “This world is becoming the kind of place I am afraid to raise my children in.”

So it seems that it is just twin season in Hollywood for the year 2017. Amid all of the Lemonade drama between Beyoncé and Jay-Z where it was even confirmed that he did indeed cheat on his leading lady, that still did not stop the power couple from procreating. They welcomed twins into this world in June 2017. Pictures of their twins, Rumi and Sir have surfaced and are now available to the public eye. They have even went so far as to trademark their twin's names (definitely for branding purposes like they did for Blue Ivy). Queen Bey was recently spotted in a Miami mansion with the six month old babies. It looks like this is a Hollywood couple who knows how withstand the test of time and overcome infidelity.

5 The Terrorist Attack During Ariana Grande's Performance

On May 22, 2017, a terrorist attack occurred in Britain's Manchester Arena during an Ariana Grande performance. A video shot and posted on Instagram shot inside the

21,000-capacity venue showed terrified teenagers screaming as they made their way out

amid a sea of pink balloons. 22 people were killed in the suicide attack and 59 other people were wounded, including some who suffered life-threatening injuries according to the officials on the scene. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack and 22-year-old suicide bomber Salman Abedi was identified as the mass murderer. He detonated an improvised explosive device near one of the venue's exits. Ariana Grande graciously made rounds of visits to her injured fans in the hospital immediately following the incident. She then became vocal about gun control on her social media accounts.

4 Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Get Engaged

Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner recently got engaged to singer Joe Jonas in early October of 2017. Though Sophie is 21 and Joe Jonas is 28, they are ready to settle down at a young age. The couple shared their happy Instagram posts in the Sunday after the proposal. They have been dating for just about a year staring in November 2016 right after they were spotted by the paps getting cozy with one another in the Netherlands. They haven't made their relationship much of a secret since they have posted on Snapchat and Instagram their PDA and have been caught multiple times out in public. According to People magazine, a source close to the musician said that “Joe is taking the relationship very seriously” and Sophie is “different from the other girls he has dated.”

3 Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Announce Their Divorce

Since announcing their separation in 2015, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have since tried to salvage their relationship, but to no avail. Before announcing their divorce in April 2017, Ben had been living in the guest house in their LA property trying to co-parent. Though they have publicly declared that their divorce is amicable,

it has been a long impending procedure.

This is one of the more recent allegations within the past few weeks. Indeed, a man who was beloved and Mr. Wholesome had been thrown on the bandwagon as one of the many men that victimized employees at the establishment that gave him that fame.
