20 Times Kourtney Proved That She's Not Boring To Look At
If you know of the Kardashians, you know that there is never a drama dry spell within their family. Well, the 15th and most recent season of their show Keeping Up With The Kardashians has had no shortage of drama and sister spats. This includes the showdown that went down between Kourtney and Kim at the beginning of the season, where Kim ended up attempting to insult Kourtney by saying that she was the least interesting sister to look at.
Though this is absolutely untrue, we can't help but think that it must hurt to, essentially, be called boring-looking. Kim and Kourtney quickly got over their drama, and have now put the feud and the comment behind them. What was once meant to be an insult has now become a joke among the sisters. Kim and Kourtney have even used the insult's newfound fame a couple of time in Instagram captions, poking fun at the petty feud.
Though they now see the comment as a joke, there is a saying that every joke comes from a place of truth. Even though she may laugh about it now, Kim's harsh words probably hit Kourtney hard, even if it was only for a moment. So if Kourtney, or anyone, ever forgets how unique she really is, here's 20 times where Kourtney proved that she is anything but boring to look at.
20 Taking Japan In PCV Pants
If you're a frequent watcher of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, you would know that Kim was heavily critical of Kourtney's outfits on their trip to Japan, including this one. We don't know why though, because this outfit looks amazing to us.
Kourtney experimented with her style and makeup on this trip, and it most definitely paid off.
Her high-waisted, red, vinyl pants paired nicely with the sheer top, that served as the perfect piece to break up the similar textures on her pants and her patent black trench coat. Kourtney layered some fishnet stockings under her pants which added a little extra interest to her basic black, patent, pointed heels. As for makeup, she opted for natural makeup with the exception of a bold red smokey eye that tied in her pants very nicely.
19 Glittering And Going Out In A Green Co-ord
You may know of the saying "all that glitters is gold" but what about green? Kourtney clearly shows us here that green can have it's moment to shine too. Matching sets are all the rage right now, so it's no surprise that fashion queen Kourtney is already all over it. B
ut she took the trend one step further and opted not only for a bright colour, but a bold texture as well, making for an all-around eye-catching look.
Kourtney's jade-green tracksuit-inspired set, consisting of high waisted, wide-legged pants and baggy, long-sleeved top is a glam take on a classic athletic wear look. The set's fabric, which has glitter woven throughout it, makes the casual silhouette look a lot more dressy but still remains true to it's sportswear origins with the athletic stripes going down the side of each pant leg. To play up the outfit's dressy nature, Kourtney paired some strappy, baby-pink heels and threw on some red-tinted sunglasses to complete her look.
18 Crushing The Carpet At The CFDA's In Christian Siriano
What better place to make a fashion statement than the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards? Better known as the CFDA's, this is an event the Kardashian sisters are no strangers to.
Being a Kardashian, you have almost every designer at your fingertips, but Kourtney decided to go with a black suit with beaded detailing, designed by Christian Siriano. The suit has a classically male silhouette, but is given feminine touches with the addition of the beading, plunging lapel neckline, and flared trousers. For accessories, Kourtney opted to layer a few silver necklaces, and diamond stud earrings. She also kept her hair and makeup very clean and sleek so that the suit can do all the talking.
17 Giving Layering A New Look
Bodysuits have been a staple in modern-day fashion, and they've honestly been so overdone.
Do you know what hasn't been done? Bodysuits over pants. If that's not brave, we don't know what is.
The components of Kourtney's outfit are quite basic: charcoal coloured jeans, a black sleeveless bodysuit, and black pointy-toe boots. However, it's the combination of colour, texture, and the way she wore the pieces that took this outfit from dull to daring. Rather than going for a true black that matched her bodysuit perfectly, she purposefully chose a these jeans in a dark grey colour so that the black body suit would contrast against them, giving the outfit dimension. Also, her patent, black, pointed toe boots give the outfit a little shine, adding texture to her look, while keeping it monotone.
16 Looking Sky-High In A Silk Jumpsuit
Lately, Kim has been the killing bright colours but Kourtney is really the OG, and her collection with Pretty Little Thing proves that - especially this bright-pink silk jumpsuit.
In promotional pictures for her line with Pretty Little Thing, Kourtney wore her design, a pink silk, wide-legged jumpsuit. Because the jumpsuit is so loud and bright, the outfit was toned down with some neutral, silver strappy heels. While she kept the hair sleek and minimal in a long, sky-high ponytail, she went a little more dramatic with her makeup. She went with full-coverage face makeup, with chiseled jaw and cheekbones. She highlighted her almond-shaped eyes with some dark eyeliner on her waterline and long lashes.
15 Vamping Up A Vintage Vibe
Thrift shopping and vintage clothing stores seem to be getting trendier by the day, and Kourtney is all over it. But she added her own fashion flare to this outfit, inspired by all the vintage vibes. Kourtney's aviator jacket really mimics the look of one that you would see in the mid 1930s, adding a vintage look with the different tones of brown patched leather. However, it's the jacket's cropped silhouette and the way she styled the jacket with the rest of the outfit that gave it a fresh new look.
Kourtney styled the brown jacket with a pair of plaid, straight-leg trousers that perfectly tie in the brown leather and cream lining on the jacket. To darken up the look, she layered a black turtle neck under the jacket, which added a nice contrast making the jacket stand out that much more. For accessories, she kept them minimal but on theme with a pair of dark, round-lens sunglasses, pointed black boots and a mini Louis Vuitton bag.
14 Bringing Cycling Shorts To Another Level
Leave it to Kourtney to take the most basic of items like a pair of biker shorts, and turn it into a look that is worthy of gracing the most prestigious runways of fashion week.
Cycling shorts are often styled in a way that correlates with athleisure, but Kourtney went for the complete opposite route, and chose to dress them up rather than down.
Kourtney paired her plain black biker shorts with a black, loose-fitting jacket, buttoned all the way up that cinches in at the waist. Though both pieces are black for a cool and low-key look, Kourtney's jacket has some red contrast stitching which gives a little flavour to what could have been an otherwise basic jacket. Kourtney paired her street-style-esque look with a cool pair of mesh, heeled mules that do a great job at elongating her legs. For her bag, she opted for her mini Louis Vuitton bag. She threw on a pair of cool black sunglasses that serve major Matrix vibes, and opted for rather natural-looking hair and makeup.
13 Casual-Luxe In All Leather
Normally, styling leather on leather would be breaking some pretty big fashion rules, but if anyone can get away with it, it's Kourtney. Maybe it's her "I don't care" attitude that lets her break almost any fashion rule while still looking flawless, but whatever it is, it's definitely working.
Kourtney is definitely a big fan of leather clothing, but she seems to have taken it to another level with this look.
Despite all the leather she has going on, this outfit is really laid back and casual. She paired her leather skinny pants with a structured-leather moto jacket layered over a simple black top. For shoes, she went with a pair of black Yeezy's with some red detailing that ties in the red on her Louis Vuitton leather mini backpack. She finished with a black hat and black sunglasses to shield her from the paparazzi that were likely snapping pictures of her, and left her long dark hair down.
12 Stepping Out Looking Red Hot In Leather Lace-Up Pants
Most people consider leather pants to be a fashion risk, so imagine wearing red leather pants? Well, that's just a casual look in Kourtney's fashion book. Kourtney's red leather pants are quite loud and have a slight rock look to them because of the laces and zipper details.
But rather than roll with the rocker style of the trousers, she paired the pants with a slouchy graphic T-shirt that gave the outfit a relaxed feel.
To keep her outfit looking polished and to add an extra bit of height to her tiny 5'1" frame, she went for a classic pair of black pointed toe heels that matched her black leather handbag. She also brought along a black leather jacket, which was probably for fashion purposes rather function, but sometimes we women have got to suffer a little to look good.
11 Making Rolling-Right-Out-Of-Bed Seem Effortless
With three kids we're sure that there must be days where Kourtney does not look as put together and chic as she always does, though those are probably few and far between. However, this outfit is perfect for all the moms out there, wishing that they could leave the house in pyjamas while still looking like they have their lives together.
Let Kourtney be the one to demonstrate how to make pyjamas look fashionable with little effort.
This blue silk pyjama-inspired blouse is probably as comfortable as real pyjamas, but looks smart and sophisticated. To go with the relaxed fit of the blouse, she opted for a pair of slim-fitting jeans that still fit relatively loosely but tapered slightly down the leg. She left the bottom portion of the blouse unbuttoned to do a half-tuck, making the outfit even cooler, if that's possible. Kourtney finished off the outfit with a pair of black, pointy-toe heels and round-lens sunglasses which appear to be a staple in her day-to-day wardrobe.
10 Bringing Back Kappa And Making It Look Extra Kool
For a while the athletic wear brand Kappa was nearly extinct until athleisure and the track suit trend craze pretty much resurrected this forgotten brand. So, if you're breaking out your old Kappa gear, looking for a way to style it in an original way you should look to Kourtney for some fashion inspiration. She can nail relaxed, casual wear just as well as she can put together a glamorous look.
The focal point of her outfit is obviously her red track pants with side-snap detailing. She styled these with a white, street-style-looking, long-sleeved top with red, blue, and black graphics and prints up the arms and around the collar. The blue and red elements in this outfit work so well together because they are balanced out by the neutral colours like the white of her top and black of her heeled boots. She went for a red lip to add some extra drama, and finished off the outfit with some slim, black, cat eye sunglasses for an effortlessly cool outfit.
9 Making Moves In Maroon Leather Pants
By now, we know that Kourtney is a fan of leather clothing in all colours, so it comes at no shock that she owns a pair of high waisted, leather maroon pants. These pants are definitely unique, and Kourtney wearing them makes them all the much cooler.
The biggest mistake you could make with these pants is to let them be overpowered by other clothes. Since Kourtney is well versed in the style game, she definitely did not make this mistake. She styled the pants simply with a cream-toned tank top with a textured bralette layered beneath it to give the outfit some dimension and detail. She chose to wear a pair of pointed snakeskin boots in a similar cream tone so that the pants really juxtaposed all the other elements of her outfit. To go along with the simplicity of her outfit, she had her makeup done very neutral and her shoulder-length hair in very subtle waves.
8 Owning Fashion Week In Faux Fur
Real fur is so out, and faux fur is in. Not only are the Kardashians style icons, but they also actively avoid wearing real animal fur, which is a step in the right direction for the fashion industry.
Here, Kourtney is a prime example wearing a tri-toned faux fur coat at New York Fashion Week. Since the coat's fluffy texture already attracts so much attention, it's fitting that the colours on the coat are more muted.
Even though Kourtney's outfit already has plenty of texture, she added another with her black, wax-looking, skinny jeans. To avoid making her outfit too busy-looking, Kourtney wore a simple, nude, sheer top with a black bralette peeking through. For accessories she went for a pair of black, lace up-effect heeled boots, a black choker, and carried a simple black clutch bag. Her hair was done in a messy but chic topknot with her signature neutral makeup.
7 Going Green - And We Don't Mean Recycling
As we've already established, Kourtney is a professional at making athleisure look fun and fresh by wearing different silhouettes, and not being afraid of, or mixing colour.
This time, Kourtney experimented with a pair of green track pants that will have you green with envy.
Like most of her other looks, Kourtney kept the focus on one piece and built her outfit around it. She wore a pair of high-waisted, green track pants with a white side stripe and tucked her plain white shirt into them. Over top, she layered a cropped, black, bomber jacket with silver detailing that nicely contrasted but also complimented the green track pants. In typical Kourtney fashion, she finished off the look with a pair of black pointed toe heels to dress the outfit up.
6 Serving Heat In Head-To-Toe Red
They say red is the colour of passion, but what about heat? Because that's exactly what Kourtney is serving in this head-to-toe red look.
Wearing one colour from head to toe is the quickest way to looking chic, and most people opt to do that in black. Kourtney, however, ditched that idea and went with a bright red monochromatic look.
The tricky part about nailing a mono-coloured outfit is to make sure that all the pieces are close to the same shade of that colour, which Kourtney managed to do well. Her red, wide-legged pants are a perfect match to her handbag with her red tank top being of a slightly brighter hue. This helps to break up all the red, as well as define her waistline. She went for a more dramatic makeup look than she would normally go for with tons of bronzer and a bold, bright red lip.
5 Looking Innocent In Ivory
Innocent comes in all shades, including ivory, which Kourtney rocks head to toe for a day out at Disneyland Paris.
This is an odd colour choice for a day at a theme park, but then again, if anyone can get away something like this, it's Kourtney.
Kourtney wore a cropped V-neck cardigan that she buttoned up, and wore that with a pair of high-waisted, straight leg, chino-style trousers that she cuffed slightly at the ankle. She opted for sensible footwear instead of her usual pumps, and wore white sneakers with grey socks peeking out. To accessorize, she decided to add some warmth back to the outfit and went for brown-toned handbag that she slung over her shoulder and brown, tortoise shell, retro-style, sunglasses. She left her long hair down and flowing in natural-looking waves.
4 Blue Velvet Boots Were Made For Walking
A fun night out calls for some fun footwear, doesn't it? According to Kourtney it does, and that footwear is in the form of thigh high blue velvet boots. Could you ask for anything more?
Because the outfit is just a pair of boots and a T-shirt as a dress, not only do the boots make up most of the outfit, but they make the outfit. The bright cobalt shade of the boots gives the outfit some colour and life, and the velvet fabric gives the outfit texture. Kourtney accessorized very simply with a black clutch bag and a few Cartier bracelets stacked on her wrists. She did her hair in a glamorous, long, sky-high ponytail. Her overall look kind of gave us Ariana Grande vibes, and it looks good on her.
3 Switching It Up With Snake Prints
At this point, Kourtney should be named the queen of crazy pants, and these snakeskin pair definitely takes the cake. And what better to pair snakeskin with than snakeskin? It's basically the snakeskin version of a Canadian tuxedo.
For her main print, Kourtney went with a pair of grey-toned, straight leg, snakeskin pants which she paired with a plain, purple-toned, grey tank top with a strappy black bralette layered underneath. For her shoes and second print, she went with a pair of cream-coloured pointy-toe boots. Though these two snake prints are very different, they compliment one another nicely because they are both in neutral shades. The clashing prints add a lot of texture and interest in a very simple and easy way.
2 Oozing Rebellious Biker Beauty
If you're looking for a point of inspiration on how to make the most of an all black outfit, you should look to Kourtney because she knows how to incorporate different pieces to make a full, dimensional, and interesting-looking outfit.
Kourtney started off with a pair of black biker shorts, a current style staple in the Kardashian-Jenner clan. With those she paired a sheer, black lace bodysuit and a black sport-like bra. The lace added a nice touch of femininity and texture to the outfit that broke apart the large amounts of stark black in her outfit. On top, she wore an oversized moto-style biker jacket over her shoulders, and carried a black box clutch bag. For her shoes, she went with a quirkier option: a pair of clear, strappy sandals with her name monogramed on the front, that elongated her legs and gave all the black a break. She opted for dewy skin, with a glossy nude lip, and kept her long hair down in beach-esque waves.
1 Nailing Tan-Colored Accessories
If you haven't already noticed, Kourtney's wardrobe incorporates a lot of denim, and/or simple, neutral-coloured tops. Here, both just so happen to be the base of her outfit. However, Kourtney's style super power is that she is able to add just the right amount of accessories to take a make a basic outfit interesting.
As mentioned before, Kourtney wore a simple pair of slim-legged jeans that featured a raw, step hem and a few rips on the legs. Tucked into her jeans, she wore a basic white T-shirt. Kourtney's showstopper piece was a long, white and nude, striped duster jacket. To compliment the darker nude shade that runs throughout the jacket, she wore dark nude, pointed toe, suede, heeled pumps and carried an Hermes Birkin bag of a similar colour. She styled her hair in a tiny bun at the top of her head and wore oversized sunglasses to finish off the look.
