19 Times Celebs Dressed Up As Other Celebs For Halloween
Halloween - that time of the year where we can dress up as someone else and feel like a whole different person for one night. Some of the most fun to be had around this time of the year is when we get to see exactly what the stars will be wearing. We can draw inspiration from their costumes, admire their creativity or even fall apart laughing at some of their epic fails. There have been many standout costumes over the years; Adele dressed as The Mask, Lewis Hamilton as The Joker, or The Carter Family (thats Jay-Z, Beyonce and Blue Ivy to non-worshippers) as the Barbie and Ken family.
Then on rare occasions, we get a real treat as stars come out and dress as other famous names. We're not talking your typical Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury costumes-this is when stars dress up as people they might bump into at the same Halloween party. The best thing is, they often nail their impressions of each other with hilarious results.
You know what they say-imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Or are these celebs just out to throw some serious shade? We'll let you be the judge.
19 Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt Are Brutal As Jon & Kate Gosselin
Everyone knows Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt can sink their claws into other people without blinking and their Halloween costume proved it when they dressed as the parent's everyone loves to hate - Jon and Kate Gosselin. Of course, they brought along eight tiny dolls as well to complete their hilarious outfit.
Spencer told US Magazine, “Halloween is supposed to be about scary costumes. What's scarier than Speidi Plus Eight?” When questioned if they were jealous that their reality TV show crown had been stolen by the Gosselin family, he replied, “Any reality stars who can get themselves 55 magazine covers will always have our respect!" The couple has recently welcomed their own son, Gunner Stone, into the world so now it's their turn to see what parenthood is really like.
18 Nicole Ritchie Mocks Jennifer Lopez With This Throwback
Nicole Ritchie treated everyone to this hilarious throwback that reminded us of a time when Jenny From The Block (Jennifer Lopez, of course) was rarely seen without her signature velour sweatsuit. Ritchie was attending Kate Hudson's annual Halloween house party in Los Angeles, when she arrived in the iconic pink get up, signature oversized aviators, huge hoops earrings and of course plenty of body shimmer.
She apparently made the move to encourage girls to get creative with their outfits. She pleaded on Facebook, "Girls, can we all pledge that we will not dress s***** for this Halloween? The jig is up!" The mother-of-two has a history of covering up at Halloween as she had dressed as Jessie the Cowgirl from Toy Story and White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland during previous years.
17 Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Get Presidential With Hilarious Results
We have no idea how long it took then-couple Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom in the prosthetics room to transform into Bill and Hillary Clinton - but it was so worth it! They both revealed their presidential look at Kate Hudson's Halloween house party last year and they both posed for cameras fully in the role of their characters.
The Chained To The Rhythm singer later posted a photo of herself on Instagram with the caption: “Having a little pre-party before I take office #IMWITHME.” She even dragged along a giant troll doll dressed like Donald Trump. Despite a shared sense of humor, Katy and Orlando split early this year following a video leak showing the Pirates of The Caribbean star with another woman. Maybe Katy will dress as her ex and his secret lover for this Halloween.
16 Kim Kardashian As Herself In That Floral Nightmare Gown
We have to give Kim Kardashian a round of applause for this Halloween when she went as herself wearing that infamous and ghastly Met Gala floral gown. Posting the picture on Instagram she wrote: “I think I nailed the Kim K costume!” Kim was expecting her second child, Saint West, so there wasn't any need for a pillow or fake bump, as she told fans excitedly, “Still fits!”
The designer responsible for this frocky horror show was Givenchy and although she became a laughing stock around the world, with some even comparing her to an old couch, she told Channel 9 that she loved it. Kim revealed, “My look at the Met Ball two years ago when I was really pregnant - I had these gloves and this whole floral print and I loved it. I thought it was so cool and it got a lot of criticism and I didn't care because I really loved it." Clearly, she is seeing the funny side now though.
15 Paris Hilton Goes Full Miley Cyrus
Let's rewind back to 2013, Paris Hilton had split from Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden and both of them went their separate ways. Then Benji was caught locking lips with Miley Cyrus at a party and Paris was not going to let her get away with that one easily. Paris then attended a Halloween party wearing a replica of Miley Cyrus' signature Bangerz costume complete with bunches. According to an insider, the costume set her back $5,000 which is merely pocket change for the heiress.
However, the following year everything appeared to calm down as Paris and Miley were caught kissing in a Miami nightclub, something which was later confirmed by a tweet Miley posted which read: “Wasn't wiping off your kiss pretty girl just your dark lipstick that was all over my face.” We have no idea what's going on anymore.
14 Blac Chyna & King Cairo Channeled Their Inner Rob Kardashian
Once upon a time, Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna lived in perfect harmony together and she even joked around by dressing her and son King Cairo just like him. They both wore matching black t-shirts and Rob's signature New York Yankees blue cap which he was quite amused by. That's all over now.
Chyna is now suing Rob and his entire family. Legal documents reported on Buzzfeed "allege Rob Kardashian is an 'abuser intent on destroying (Chyna).' She also claims the Kardashians of using their fame, wealth and power to exact revenge on her, "s***-shaming" her and sabotaging her second series of Rob and Chyna. Her lawyer said, "(I am) proud to stand with Chyna as she stands up for her rights. We are seeking accountability and justice. I am very confident we will be successful."
13 Cara Delevigne Might Not See Funny Side Of Kate Moss' Costume
We're sure Kate Moss didn't mean to come across as mean-spirited with her Cara Delevigne costume but the whole thing was a little close to the bone. Cara, Kate's named successor, was caught dropping a very suspicious small bag outside of her London home. Cara's team and herself have always denied anything was suspicious about the package and said it was coffee powder for traveling.
Kate decided to make an appearance at the Halloween party of TV Show Host Jonathan Ross wearing an outfit much like the one Cara wore on that notorious night. The British supermodel also appeared eccentric in front of the camera and with a smear of white powder under her own nose. Let's just say these two might not be the best of friends after these pictures emerged.
12 Kim Kardashian Shows Vogue She Really Has Got Style
Kim Kardashian took a gamble that behind Vogue editor Anna Wintour's cold stare she does have a sense of humor when she dressed as her for Halloween. She grabbed a pair of Wintour-esque sunglasses and a light brown wig to mimic the feared fashionista. Her close friend dressed as Vogue's creative director Grace Coddington, her daughter appeared as editor-at-large Andre Talley and their little friend as Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld. It was too cute for words.
Anna Wintour had previously landed in trouble for describing Kanye West's Yeezy show as “Migrant chic” - a statement which she later had to apologize for. She told The Guardian, “I apologize if my remark was offensive in any way. The migrant crisis is real, and I didn't intend to trivialize that issue.”
11 Deryck Whibley Dressed As His Ex Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroger
There was no bigger diss - period - other than when Avril Lavingne's ex-husband Deryck Whibly dressed as the Complicated singer and her new husband, Nickleback frontman Chad Kroeger. Dereyk and Avril divorced in 2009 after three years of marriage but he told Ryan Seacrest they were still good friends, revealing, “I think we're very lucky. We've been friends for a really long time and we always will be family. We have a connection. Things are good. I'm really grateful for that."
Yet Chad Kroeger was not too impressed with the costumes as he tweeted the Sum 41 frontman from his band's account: “"Hey Deryck loved the costumes! We were going to dress up as you guys this year but all the parties had celebrity themes haha!" Do you need some ointment for that burn, Deryck?
10 Nina Dubrev Won't Let Ryan Lochte Forget His Own Disgrace
The Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev took throwing shade at Halloween to a whole new level when she dressed as Olympian Ryan Lochte. Wearing in a silver wig and muscle suit, which included a can of American beer as a prop, she wrote on Instagram: “Had a blast in Rio. Oh, and we also won some Gold Medals. Go USA.”
Lochte caused international controversy when he allegedly vandalized a gas station in in Rio during the Olympic games. He initially claimed we was robbed at gunpoint alongside swimmers Jimmy Feigen, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger. Although police later found the security guard was trying to hold them accountable for damaging property at the station. This was a surprisingly tame costume for the actress as she had previously appeared as the horse Leonardo D Caprio's character devoured in The Revenant - guts and all.
9 Heidi Klum Decided To Clone Herself
Let's just state the facts first - Heidi Klum is the Queen of Halloween, no questions asked. The model's Halloween Ball hosts one of the most extravagant parties and celebs from all around the globe arrive for fun times. Of course, as the organizer, she always must have the best costume and she never fails. Last year, she went all out and actually cloned herself multiple times. She posted on her Instagram account: "“Are you seeing double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple?!”
Her squad of models had to have prosthetics and makeup applied to look exactly like her and of course ridiculously long legs too. The makeup artist behind it all revealed to People, "They were custom to each girl derived from the original master casting of Heidi's face. Anyone can actually be Heidi if they wear this mask. But, the eye shapes of each girl will show through. That I cannot change. There's really only one Heidi, and her eyes tell it all."
8 Lena Durham Mocks Louis CK's Receding Hairline
Girls actress Lena Dunham rocked a Louis CK costume for Halloween - including signature receding hairline - and she lost a lot of friends in the process. She said that she had an issue with Halloween costumes like mermaids, secretary and “fancy lady” so wanted to try out something different. But apparently this did not go down well as she was so new in the film industry.
In her online blog, she recalled, “It was (a party) full of male comedy writers, a subgroup I no longer get quite so hot and bothered by, but at the time, I considered them the height of marriage goals. I thought my Louis costume would immediately establish me as cool, fun, and in on the joke. Plus, this was Hollywood - wasn't everyone too sophisticated to fall for yet another sexy cat??” Sadly, most people ended up ignoring her at the party, she added, “And with that, I removed my bald cap and headed home.”
7 Ellen DeGeneres Hilariously Resembles Dr. Phil
Ellen DeGeneres is well known for her creativity when it comes to celebrity costumes; she's previously dressed as Sofia Vergara in a filled-out dress, a pregnant Jennifer Lopez, Sia in a face-covering wig and many other stars but her Dr. Phil costume was her perfect Halloween score. Taking a break for her usual feminine outfits, she instead chose to appear on her show at the psychologist and talk show rival.
According to Forbes, Dr. Phil still holds the top spot over Ellen when it comes to top earning TV entertainers. His annual earnings for the previous year were $79 million whereas Ellen takes second place with annual earnings of $77 million. Calculating together their chat show salary, non-TV appearances and endorsements - she's always left just slightly behind. No wonder she liked to poke fun at her major competitor.
6 Kathie Lee Gifford Brings Back Princess Eugenie & Beatrice Royal Wedding Disaster
Since the Royal Wedding, which saw Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot during a ceremony that was seen by an estimated 2 billion around the world in 180 different countries, nobody has quite recovered from the hats chosen by Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb stepped out looking hilariously fabulous at the Rockefeller Center Halloween themed bash to remind us all of this horror show.
The Princesses wore what was called "The Hats Heard Around The World" as a stunned nation questioned who it was that had dressed them for the formal occasion. What happened next was Twitter filled with memes that were nothing short of hilarious. The rules are never to upstage the bride on her wedding day and these two took that to a whole different level.
5 Kelly Ripa Takes Over Kim Kardashian's Famous Photoshoot
When Kim Kardashian attempted to “break the internet” with her Paper magazine cover which needs no introduction - Kelly Ripa wanted to attempt exactly the same and she came quite close with this iconic shot. Ripa revealed her own champagne-popping version and had the most fun whilst she was at it.
Reminiscing of the photo shoot, Kim told an Australian talk show, "I was so honored and excited to work with (photographer Jean-Paul Goude) because he is a legend, and for me that was something I wanted to do to make myself feel confident. As a role model I'm not saying anyone else should do that, but for me it was an art project and it taught me to do what you want to do. She added, "I'm never one to preach, but I felt really positive and really good about myself. I love the photos, I did it for me, I hope other people like them." She also revealed that yes she did actually balance the champagne glass on her behind and her back "hurt for weeks" after the shoot.
4 Kelly Ripa Kills It (Again) With Nick Lachey As Kim and Kris Humphries
There's no denying that Kelly Ripa and Nick Lachey's Halloween shoot was nothing - short - of hilarious, as Lachey walked on stilts to appear like Kris Humphries on his and Kim Kardashian's wedding day, but many others thought the timing was a little too insensitive as the couple had just started divorce proceedings. We think the Kardashian family can take a joke especially when it's at Kim's expense.
The union of Kim and Kris famously only lasted for 72 days before Kim filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences." Kim's alleged former publicist Jonathan Jaxson claimed the wedding was staged and the whole ceremony a sham so they could squeeze millions from the media. We're not saying that's entirely true but Kim did bring out her own "wedding fragrance" called "Kim Kardashian Love" on the day of the ceremony.
3 Aziz Ansari as The Weeknd's Throwback Style
Comedian Aziz Ansari didn't just dress up as The Weeknd, he went all out and performed his hit song The Hills. He shared the hilarious moment with his fans on the Dubsmash app. Nowadays, there will be no streaming of his fans as The Master of None star has quit the internet - for good. That includes no more email too.
He told GQ, "Whenever you check for a new post on Instagram or whenever you go on The New York Times to see if there's a new thing, it's not even about the content. It's just about seeing a new thing. You get addicted to that feeling. You're not going to be able to control yourself. So the only way to fight that is to take yourself out of the equation and remove all these things.”
2 Even Harry Styles Mocked Miley Cyrus Too
Former One Direction band member turned solo superstar and renowned playboy Harry Styles thought he could get away with his Miley Cyrus Halloween costume - until his sister posted this picture online. Harry appeared in very clingy orange shorts, hair in bunches with tongue out (the signature Miley look), and with a giant foam hand to mock her cringe-worthy performance with Robin Thicke during the MTV Video Music Awards.
Harry had previously criticized the performance, telling Moviefone, “I think it's quite inappropriate. Especially for the age group that it's aimed at. I think it's, you know, promoting promiscuity.” His former bandmate Louis Tomlinson added, “I was shocked at how much coverage it got and I think she was shocked. I don't think she even knew she'd get that much attention from it.”
1 Jemima Khan Also Gets Political As Melania Trump
Last year, New Statesman and Vanity Fair associate editor Jemima Khan attended the UNICEF Halloween Ball in London dressed as Melania Trump. She even included a loud-mouthed Donald Trump who appeared to be harassing her. In a series of Snapchat videos, the costume was revealed to her followers and soon everyone was applauding her creativity.
Her outfit was a jab at now-President Trump when accusations leaked to the media he had been indecent with several women. Trump fired back, “These vicious claims about me of inappropriate conduct with women are totally and absolutely false. These claims are all fabricated. They're pure fiction and they're outright lies. These events never, ever happened.” This didn't stop Khan from making her point via fancy dress though.
