Breaking (or more like heartbreaking) news: Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have split after more than two years together. The young couple both released separate statements on social media. Zayn wrote that he still has "a huge amount of respect and adoration" for Gigi and that she has an "incredible soul." In Gigi's statement, she wrote, "I'm forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared."

An insider revealed to The Sun, "This is definitely the end for now, but this isn't a bitter split and they both have respect for each other. It's a mutual decision so no one has completely ruled out a reunion in the future, but, for now, that's not where their heads are at."

Fans were left devastated as one tweeted, "I don't remember what it's like to live in a world where Zayn and Gigi aren't together" and another wrote, "If Gigi & Zayn cant make it work then I give up."

This might have seemed like a good idea at the time, considering Zayn was madly in love with Gigi, but fans are now left wondering exactly what he's going to do with this tattoo of her eyes on his chest. The awkward body art will likely be covered up now they have gone their separate ways as no future partner will enjoy looking at that.

Zayn must have believed that the relationship was going really well as the tattoo was fresh only a few months ago.
