The tape was leaked to Vivid Entertainment, who Kim sued but then later dropped the suit and settled for $5 million. Then a new tell-all, explosive book came to light and it turns out that Kim's tape was leaked by her own mother - Kris Jenner.

Kardashian Dynasty, written by Ian Halperin, revealed, "It was Kris who engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day. It is clear that Vivid would not have announced plans to distribute Kim's tape without a clear indication from the family that they would give the go-ahead once they had come to terms on a price." Kim really needs to be more careful when it comes to sharing home footage because she also leaked a photo of Kourtney when she was underage. Kim was in possession of about a dozen photos of Kourtney but someone these simply "got out." Photo agent Eric Ford got hold of the snaps but as Kourtney was younger than 18, the FBI also had to get involved who seized both Ford's laptop and the photos in question.

A representative for the Kardashians tried to put off media outlets from buying the images as they stated, "Any publication that would print these pictures, which are considered (illegal), will be subject to the same criminal investigation as the agency who is attempting to sell them." Maybe Kim just needs to pick a much stronger password next time.

When it comes to selling photos to the press, any pictures of celebrity offspring go for big money and Kim didn't want people cashing in on her daughter's birth. Within the first ten days of North being born, Kim purposefully leaked fake pictures via certain friends to see which members of her close circle who betray her. Fake pictures of North appeared on TMZ's website and Kim was able to tell which person they had come from. When Rob leaked private pictures of Blac Chyna online - it wasn't just bad, it was also illegal and he could have faced six months behind bars. Chyna told Good Morning America, "I was devastated. I'm like, 'How could somebody, like, post these pictures of me?' And I'm like, 'Wow, OK, like, this is a person that I trusted.'" She added, "I've talked to Rob, you know, about everything. Following Chyna's claims of domestic violence suffered at the hands of Rob, this cute photo of Dream playing in her father's baseball cap whilst in his arms found it's way online via Khloe's Instagram.
