15 Celebs Who Were Outed As Cheaters By The Media
When you're a celebrity, the temptation to cheat can be too great to resist. Your job often requires you to be on the road at all times, away from family and loved ones. You're in constant contact with beautiful people, perhaps getting involved in some steamy scenes with them. Plus, you have to make it look believable, so there's got to be at least some chemistry there. Or, if costars and coworkers aren't your thing, there's always the fans. It can be difficult for a celeb to turn down the masses throwing themselves at their feet, worshipping the ground the walk on. It's amazing that marriages and relationships in Hollywood last at all, let alone for an extended period of time.
Additionally, when you're famous, you're under constant scrutiny and surveillance, by fans and paparazzi. Your every move is documented and dissected. A dinner with a friend becomes a burgeoning romance, a walk down the street becomes a date. Sometimes, though, celebrities are caught in the act of exactly what we were looking for: cheating. They're snapped coming out of massage parlours or in a steamy lip-lock with someone who is NOT their partner. These 15 celebs were just that unlucky, and had their lyin' ways outed by the media.
15 Jason Aldean: Country Lovin'
Sometimes the Other Woman can become the next Mrs. - just ask Jason Aldean. Back in 2012, the then-married country star was caught kissing American Idol alum Brittany Kerr, despite the fact that at the time he was wed to wife Jessica Ussery for the past 12 years, with whom he shared two children. At the time, Aldean chalked it up to a “drunken mistake”, publicly apologized, and tried to repair his marriage, only to formally file for divorce in 2013.
Well, fast-forward to 2015 and Kerr and Aldean are now happily married, turning her from the mistress to the wife! Although the couple initially caught their fair share of bad press for beginning out of infidelity with Aldean in particular having to answer for his actions, since then he's been quoted as saying that their wedding day was the “best day ever”. Hey, if everyone involved ended up happily ever after, then who are we to judge?
14 Kristen Stewart: Caught With Her Director
It was the affair heard 'round the world - or, rather, SEEN - when Kristen Stewart, she of the tween-age mega-franchise Twilight stepped out on her vampiric on-screen and off-screen boyfriend Robert Pattinson with her director, Rupert Sanders, who was also married at the time.
Back in 2012, as Twilight was winding down and Stewart was filming Snow White and the Huntsman, directed by Sanders, the two were caught by paparazzi enjoying a steamy make-out, and when the photos made the magazines, all hell broke loose. Stewart was forced to issue a pleading apology to Pattinson, saying she was devastated by her actions and had “jeopardized the most important thing in [her] life”. Sanders, a father of two, likewise expressed his anguish at causing pain to his family. Not surprisingly, both couples broke up, Stewart later came out, Pattinson is reportedly engaged to singer FKA Twigs, and Sanders made the box-office bomb Ghost in the Shell, which tells you how well he's doing.
13 David Boreanaz: Not an “Angel”
On very rare occasions - and we do not recommend this as a way to resuscitate a dying marriage - cheating has proven beneficial to a relationship. Case in point: David Boreanaz, the star of Angel and Bones. Back in 2010, Boreanaz became involved with Rachel Uchitel, who pops up another time on our list, proving that some women thrive as home-wreckers. Boreanaz's wife of 10 years, Jaime Bergman, was pregnant with their second child at the time when photos and text messages of her husband's infidelity first surfaced. According to Boreanaz, Uchitel was extorting him for cash, ordering him to pay a six-figure sum or else she would leak everything to the tabloids. In addition to being found out by the media, Boreanaz came clean to his wife, explaining that he didn't want to give up on their relationship. Bergman shared his sentiments, saying, “There's anger. There's hurt. There's disgust. But there is also love.”
Since the reveal, Boreanaz has been quoted multiple times saying that his affair made his marriage stronger, but we certainly don't recommend testing it out!
12 Katharine McPhee: On the Casting Couch
Even if you chose to split from your husband or partner following a cheating scandal, you'd probably want them to feel a bit guilty for stepping out on you, but that wasn't the case with Katharine McPhee! The American Idol alum and star of the TV show Smash had been married to her husband Nick Cokas for five years when photos surfaced of her passionately kissing her Smash director, Michael Morris. Morris was - you guessed it - also married, with children of his own.
Maybe it was the 19 years that separated McPhee from her husband, or the fact that they had simply grown apart, but the actress and singer stated that she didn't regret her decision to step out on her spouse. While Morris stayed with his wife and family, Cokas and McPhee split in 2014, the year the news of her infidelity broke, and officially divorced in 2016. “I don't have any regrets,” McPhee has been quoted as saying. “All of the choices I made I learned from in a really deep way.”
11 Hugh Grant: Got Frisky With a Lady of the Night
Paul Newman once famously said that he would never step out on his wife because why would you have a hamburger when you can enjoy steak at home, but apparently Hugh Grant didn't agree with the sentiment. Back when he was involved with one of the most beautiful women of the '90s, English actress Elizabeth Hurley, Grant got caught with his pants down - literally.
In 1995, the blinky Brit was arrested for soliciting a lady of the night, Divine Brown, in his car. Since he was in Hollywood at the time, the news made headlines everywhere, and Grant had everyone wondering what the hell he was thinking to mess up with Hurley! Shockingly, she stuck with her boyfriend - whom she'd been dating for eight years at the time - until 2000, when they amicably parted ways, proving that sometimes cheating doesn't always spell the end for couples. Or at least, not always right away.
10 Coco Austin: One Rapper Too Many
Normally we wouldn't qualify Coco Austin, wife of rapper Ice-T, as a celebrity, but cheating takes in people of all levels of fame, including the B- and C-levels. You might know Austin and her ample assets from her provocative Instagram photos and the reality show she shared with her husband, Ice Loves Coco. Well, Ice may love Coco, but does she love him? That's the question we're asking after the blonde after she snapped photos of herself cuddling up to rapper AP.9 back in 2012 while in Vegas.
It's unusual for a celebrity - or anyone for that matter - to take the steamy shots themselves, but that's exactly what Austin did, snapping images of AP.9 nuzzling her neck and sending them to her husband, who tweeted his thoughts on the exchange, saying, “She's made me look. And feel like s***.” Despite what the images might convey, Austin was adamant that they were all that transpired, although she did admit that taking them was disrespectful to her husband.
9 Tony Parker: Not a Team Player
It's one thing to cheat on your wife, but when you're screwing over a friend in the process, you're doing double damage. That was the case for Tony Parker, the NBA player who split from wife Eva Longoria after three years of marriage - and a tattoo commemorating their union - in 2010. But it wasn't just any woman that Parker got himself involved with - it was the wife of his own teammate! Longoria discovered racy texts between Erin Barry, now ex-wife of Brent Barry, and Parker, which was dished to the tabloids.
It's a little blurry as to how the scandal broke, because it seems as though those pesky “anonymous” sources were the ones to come out with the trouble between Longoria and Parker, although Longoria definitely discovered Parker's indiscretions on her own. However, since the fallout of the affair and divorce was painfully public, we still think it definitely qualifies to be on our list!
8 Jude Law: Got Busy With The Nanny
In the early '00s, there was no couple hotter in British cinema than Sienna Miller and Jude Law. They were both gorgeous to look at and listen to, and tended to choose films that exemplified all that the 2000s were about. She was a style icon, he was an English Lothario, and unfortunately, it was too good to last.
In 2005, Law already had two children by his ex, Sadie Frost, when Miller came into the picture, but one lady apparently wasn't enough to satisfy the English Casanova. Like any terrible soap opera storyline and cliché, Law took up with his children's nanny, Daisy Wright. Wright sold a tell-all interview to Britain's Sunday Mirror, detailing her X-rated endeavours with the actor, which is how Miller found about her fiancé's infidelity. “He is a great lover and knows how to satisfy a woman,” Wright stated. “We couldn't get enough of each other.” Not surprising anyone, Miller and Law soon split after the bombshell interview, but did briefly rekindle things again in 2011.
7 Sienna Miller: From Cheated On To Cheater
Does infidelity beget infidelity? Since she knew what it was like to be the Other Woman, it seems cruel that Sienna Miller would put another woman in her position when she had an affair with married actor Balthazar Getty in 2008.
In a series of eye-catching photos that saw Miller and Getty trekking to tropical locales, take boat rides, and spend much of their time nearly naked (Miller was snapped multiple times going topless), Miller redirected the pity she had received in the wake of the Jude Law cheating scandal as she inducted herself into the Home-wrecker Hall of Fame. Getty, in addition to being married, was also a father of four, and later cited his family history with addiction as partly to blame for his tryst with Miller. Shockingly, his wife did end up taking Getty back, and, like Boreanaz earlier in this article, Getty said that his affair made his marriage stronger. Miller, for her part, seemed to recognize how the public might view her now: “I probably don't seem very nice.”
6 Ashton Kutcher: What Happened in San Diego Didn't Stay In San Diego
Before he was happily married to Mila Kunis and the proud papa of two adorable children, Ashton Kutcher was wed to Demi Moore, who endured years of being called a “cougar” during her marriage to the much-younger actor. He had been accused of cheating on a couple of occasions, but the most shocking was definitely in 2011, when his one-night stand Sara Leal decided to dish all the dirty details to a magazine following her seduction by Kutcher.
Leal, who was 22 at the time, was invited up to Kutcher's hotel room on what would have been the actor's six-year anniversary with Moore. In addition to frolicking nude in a hot tub with a couple other people, Leal claimed that she slept with Kutcher - sans protection. Years after the fact, Leal got her name in the papers again, this time once it was revealed that she wasn't so single herself. At the time, she was involved with none other than actor Scott Eastwood!
5 LeAnn Rimes: From TV Romance to Real-Life Cheating
If it feels like this affair has been going on forever, it's probably because all parties involved haven't been able to shut up about it! LeAnn Rimes was married to Dean Sheremet when she costarred with Eddie Cibiran, who was married to Real Housewife Brandi Glanville, on the TV movie Northern Lights. The 2009 scandal was infamous, detailed by all parties and splashed across the pages of multiple tabloids. There were arguments over children, bitterness over divorce, Glanville's constant need to discuss her ex in magazines, on Twitter, and on TV, and Rimes' scary-skinny frame. Despite taking place in 2009, Glanville and Sheremet especially have been unable to stay quite about the pain they endured at the hands of their former spouses, who are now married to one another.
It's a well-known fact that marriages that begin from infidelity aren't usually likely to stay faithful and strong throughout, so it may just be a matter of time before this notorious duo call it quits themselves - or if the media reveals the end first!
4 Jessica Simpson: Not-So-Faithful Newlywed
We got to see a lot about Jessica Simpson's marriage to Nick Lachey thanks to MTV's Newlyweds. One thing we didn't see: Simpson's affair with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine back in 2004!
There were two times when the two made beautiful music together, the first being in 2004, and then later in 2006. After spending the night together at Chateau Marmont, Simpsons was photographed in the ultimate walk-of-shame wear: Levine's button-up shirt! Simpson was picked up outside the club the following morning by her friend, but the two weren't quick enough to avoid paparazzi and Simpson was tarred and feathered for stepping out on Lachey. Like most of the pairs on this list, the two split, although, if anyone ever caught an episode of Newlyweds, it was obvious that cheating would only have been one issue the couple was dealing with. Since their split, both have married other people and had children.
3 Brad Pitt: Cheated On Jennifer Aniston On-Set
Arguably the most famous affair in the history of Hollywood, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston split more than a decade ago, but you can usually find a story about them in a tabloid on any given week still. The story is a well-known one: Pitt was filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Angelina Jolie - a woman who has taken a boyfriend from a woman before - and sparks flew on set. Despite being married to Aniston and widely considered to be one half of Hollywood's golden couple, rumours began to leak out to the media that the love they showed on the big screen was nothing compared to the real-life love blossoming between Pitt and Jolie.
One messy divorce later, six kids for Pitt and Jolie, a marriage for both Aniston and Pitt to separate parties and, finally, a divorce for Pitt and Jolie, we have one of the most storied sagas of Hollywood love and infidelity that kept the tabloids in business for years! (And had many claiming their allegiance to one woman or the other.)
2 Bill Clinton: He Had Relations With That Woman
Perhaps even more famous than the Aniston-Pitt-Jolie triangle, we have Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, the affair that led to the infamous soundbite: “I did not have s*xual relations with that woman.”
Between 1995 and 1996, Clinton was embroiled in a steamy affair with 22-year-old White House intern Lewinsky, despite being a married father and the President of the United States. Lewinsky confided her affair to coworker Linda Tripp, who secretly recorded their conversations and offered “advice” to Lewinsky. Tripp then delivered the tapes to to the Independent Counsel who was investigating Clinton for other matters at the time, which naturally led to a bombshell reveal in the media, who dubbed the scandal “Lewinskygate”, “Monicagate”, and “Zippergate”, among other things. The details are salacious and well documented, from her blue dress to the exact placement of a cigar, but despite being the most-covered affair in political history, the Clintons stayed married and Lewinsky faded from the spotlight.
1 Tiger Woods: Every Woman Under the Sun
This scandal makes our number one spot for the sheer number of mistresses involved and how they continued to crawl out of the woodwork as the story was covered in-depth by the media. Tiger Woods was golf's golden boy, married to gorgeous former model Elin Nordegren, when it was revealed in a banner headline in 2009: “Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal”.
The details were all there. Nordegren had found texts from multiple women on Woods' phone, one from the infamous Rachel Uchitel, who had an affair with David Boreanaz when his wife was pregnant. Woods had told Uchitel that she was the only one he ever loved. Nordegren, naturally, freaked out, and chased Woods out of their shared home with a golf club. In all, 14 women came out to admit that they had been involved with Woods while he was married. Adult film stars, exotic dancers, waitresses, escorts, and party girls all of them. The 15th mistress was the final straw for Nordegren, who filed for divorce: she was only 14 at the time, and the daughter of their neighbours.
