15 Celebrities Who've Admitted To Their Changes
Celebrities, on the whole, are really lucky. They're beautiful. They're talented. And they live these really glamorous lives. So how do they do it? Well, they have a lot of help. Their hair looks flawless because they get a blow out every morning. Their make up is professionally applied. They have a stylist pick out their clothes. They have personal trainers to help them work out. They have chefs who make their food. And then they have assistants to take care of everything so they have time to focus on their looks.
But is that all? Are celebrities able to look so flawless just thanks to their team? Of course not. They also use a little bit of Hollywood magic, also known as a trip (or two or three) to the cosmetic doctor. No matter how you feel about getting work done, it's nice when celebrities admit that they've done it. And not all celebrities are willing to say that their looks aren't 100% natural. So here are 15 who have gone under the knife and are willing to tell the tale.
15 Chrissy Teigen Is Giving Us All Of Her
Chrissy Teigen, a model, TV personality, queen on social media, and John Legend's wife, has been very open about what she's had done. Chrissy likes to keep things pretty real on social media, so it's almost no surprise that she told her fans about her visits to the doctor's office. But it is refreshing to hear someone as gorgeous as Chrissy, who made her modeling career on her good looks, admit that it wasn't all natural. Chrissy said in an interview, "Everything about me is fake except my cheeks," she then pointed to her forehead, nose, and lips saying, "Fake, fake, fake." Chrissy then went on to explain, "I had my armpit sucked out. It added two inches of length to my arms." Maybe her open attitude will help other celebs come forward about their own insecurities.
14 Ariel Winter Needed To Take It Down A Notch
Ariel Winter, the Modern Family star, was pretty open about her work. And perhaps that's because this type of work she had done isn't considered as vain as some others. Ariel had a reduction. Poor Ariel dealt with a lot of negative attention growing up on Modern Family. She suddenly went from the little girl to the 15 year old with size F cup at only 5 feet and 1 inch tall. But worse than the bullying was the physical pain Ariel felt every day. So in the summer of 2015, Ariel underwent this procedure taking her chest from a 32F to a 34D. In an interview, Ariel shared her feelings after her procedure, "[A week later], I was buying clothes and crying as I put them on, I was so happy. You just feel so relieved and excited. You feel like a new person. You feel like this is how I was supposed to be."
13 Iggy Azalea Needed A Change
Rapper Iggy Azalea is no stranger to criticism about her looks. Ever since she came on the music scene, haters have had something to say. But when she appeared at the Billboard Music Awards in 2015 with a slightly different look, rumors began to fly that she had had a nose job. And in typical Iggy fashion, she wasn't going to ignore the rumors. Iggy told Seventeen Magazine, "I'm not denying it. Denying it is lame. I don't think you should be ashamed if you made a change to yourself, which is why I've spoken about the changes I've made, like with my [chest]." So Iggy was happy to come clean about her nose job and her previous boob job. Good for you, Iggy! But she does have some wise words for younger girls considering going under the knife. Iggy says, "Your perception of yourself can change a lot over time so I think it's important to wait and make sure it's the right choice. It's no easy feat to live with your flaws and accept yourself-and it's no easy feat to change yourself. Either way you look at it, it's a tough journey. There are things that I didn't like about myself that I changed through [these procedures]. There are other things I dislike but I've learned to accept."
12 Kaley Cuoco Made The Right Decision
The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco has been open about getting work done. But it took her quite a few years before she was ready to go public with the news of the enhancement she made to her cup size. Kaley had the procedure done in 2004 when she was on 8 Simple Rules but didn't admit to it until 2014. She called the procedure, "The best decision I ever made!" Well, at least Kaley is happy with her decision. Even if you're not a fan of getting work done, the worst is when celebs regret the work they've had done and keep going under the knife to try and fix it. Or when you can tell the job was obviously botched. Kaley is obviously not the only celebrity to have her chest enhanced. But she is one of the few who has owned up to it and admitted how much she loves it. Clearly getting the work done was the right decision for her.
11 Victoria Beckham Wishes She Was More Honest
For as long as Britney Spears has been in the limelight, there have been rumors about the various procedures she may or may not have had done. Did she get her boobs done? Did she do her nose? Botox? Lipo? We can't say for certain whether she has or has not undergone anything major. We'll leave that for the tabloids to guess about. But Britney has admitted to having a cosmetics doctor that she sees regularly. And she has also been open about having a little small work done. She told InStyle, "A doctor I see, Dr. [Raj] Kanodia, does fun stuff to me sometimes -- I've had lip injections before." So she confirmed the rumors that she has had lip injections. But what exactly is the other fun stuff? Maybe one day Brit will open up about all of that too.
9 The Kardashians Aren't All About Sharing
It's no surprise at all that the first family of TV has had their share of work done. Some of the family members are more private about the work while others are more than happy to open up. Oldest sister Kourtney, who is also a mom to three, has no problem admitting to her boob job. She told Nightline, "I have had implants, but it's so funny 'cause it's not a secret, I could care less." Middle sister Kim, the most famous of the family, is adamant that she hasn't done anything to her chest or nose. She only admits to Botox. Khloe has also admitted to using fillers. And even youngest sister Kylie has admitted to lip injections. But the most open member of the family has to be matriarch Kris Kardashian. Mama Kardashian is so open about her procedures that she had a facelift on an episode of KUWTK!
8 Jennifer Aniston Has Only Done One
We all know Jennifer Aniston as Rachel from Friends. She also starred in like every rom-com in the early 2000s, endured a media frenzy during her divorce from Brad Pitt and has gotten lots of questions about her use or non-use of cosmetic procedures. Jennifer has the most incredible skin and looks much younger than her 48 years. So is it really just thanks to Smart Water and Aveeno moisturizer? Well, we can't say for sure. Jenn is staying mum on whether or not she's had any help in that department. But she is open about one surgery: her nose job. Back in 2007, Jenn addressed rumors about getting work done by saying, "It's funny. I had [a deviated septum] fixed - best thing I ever did. I slept like a baby for the first time in years. As far as all the other [rumors], as boring as it sounds, it's still mine. All of it. Still mine. Short of letting everybody have a feel, I don't know what else to do. I really am pretty happy with what God gave me." You tell 'em, Jenn!
7 Julie Chen Took A Big Risk
Julie Chen is the bold and beautiful host of Big Brother and a mainstay on our screens over the summer. But she's also one of the celebrities who is most open about her procedures. That's because Julie's work represents a lot of shame and racism in the industry. She explains, "My secret dates back to-my heart is racing-it dates back to when I was 25 years old and I was working as a local news reporter in Dayton, Ohio. I asked my news director [if] over the holidays, if anchors want to take vacations, could I fill in? And he said, 'You will never be on this anchor desk, because you're Chinese.' He said, 'Let's face it Julie, how relatable are you to our community? How big of an Asian community do we have in Dayton? On top of that, because of your Asian eyes, I've noticed that when you're on camera, you look disinterested and bored.' Well, fast forward, I'm like I need to get another job-if I can-so I start meeting with agents for career advice. This one big-time agent basically told me the same thing. He said, 'I cannot represent you unless you get [work done] to make your eyes look bigger.' And after I had it done, the ball did roll for me. And I wondered, did I give in to the man? I have to live with every decision that I've made. And it got me to where we are today. And I'm not going to look back."
6 Jillian Michaels Believes In The Right Reason
Jillian Michaels is best known as one of the trainers from TV's The Biggest Loser. She coached dozens of contestants helping them to lose weight and get healthy. The show was all about hard work in the gym instead of quick fixes at the doctor's office. So it was quite a surprise to learn that Jillian Michaels has had work done. She shared, "I had my nose done when I was 16 years old, and I'll be honest, it did change my life. Not to say you should let your physicality define you, but there are some things that can make people feel really insecure. So, if there is something you want to fix that allows you to feel a little bit more confident, I support it. I think it's about [doing it for] the right reasons." Fair enough!
5 Ashlee Simpson Confirms The Obvious
Ashlee Simpson was a musical artist and known best as Jessica Simpson's little sister. When she first came on the scene, she was all about her emo-look with dark hair, bangs that hung into her eyes, grunge outfits, and a slightly broken-ish nose. But then she came back with bleached blonde tresses, glamorous outfits, and a much thinner nose. What gives? The tabloids were all over Ashlee for her new look. When asked about her nose job, Ashlee had a cheeky answer. She responded saying, "As long as people have two eyes, you probably know the answer." After all the media attention her new look got, it was only fair that Ashlee confirm the rumors but in her own spunky way. Many celebrities prefer to deny their procedures but Ashlee was happy to confirm the obvious.
4 Kelly Rowland Took Her Time
Kelly Rowland, one third of Destiny's Child and a musical artist in her own right, is also one of a few celebrities who has been candid about her procedures. Kelly admitted to having her chest enhanced. But it wasn't a procedure she went into lightly. She had wanted the procedure when she was 18 years old but didn't go under the knife until she was 28. Kelly explains, "I wanted to get implants when I was 18, but my mom and Beyoncé's mom told me to really think about it first. I took their advice and waited 10 years. Once I felt ready, I tried on padded bras and walked around in them to see how it would feel. You have to know what you're getting, no matter what type of [procedure] it is." Now this is an approach to getting work done I can get on board with. Kelly took her time coming to her decision. She sought advice from trusted sources. She did her homework. And she's happy with her decision!
3 Betty White Opened Her Eyes
It's kind of hard to believe that 95 year old actress Betty White has had some work done. That's not to say she doesn't look amazing - because she does! We just usually associate getting work done with younger actresses and models, not senior citizens. But it's true! Betty had a little bit of work done. She says, "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature! But in 1976 I had my eyelids done. I scolded myself forever, but now I'm glad I did it." She shared this secret in her 2011 autobiography. So she kept her secret for 35 years. That's quite a long time to not talk about a little eye work. But maybe because it's a procedure we don't hear talked about a lot, it was easier for Betty to hide. Nice to hear she's opening up about almost everything in her old age.
2 Jamie Lee Curtis Doesn't Think It's Worth The Risk
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who you might remember as Lindsay Lohan's mom in Freaky Friday, was one of the first Hollywood celebrities to come clean about getting work done. Way back in 2002, Jamie Lee made a bombshell confession when she said, "I've done it all. I've had a little [work done]. I've had a little lipo. I've had a little Botox. And you know what? None of it works. None of it." She continued on and revealed even more details, "Ten years ago, before anybody did that, I had fat taken from underneath my eyes because I was on a movie and I was puffy. I remember the cameraman saying: 'I can't shoot her now'. I remember being mortified. And yet, you know what? Nobody tells you if you take fat from your body in one place, it comes back in another place. All of these 'bettering' experiences are not without risk. And there is this illusion that once you do it, then you'll be fine. And that's just horses!@t. I looked worse."
1 Reid Ewing Had A Serious Problem
Reid Ewing is another Modern Family actor who is no stranger to getting work done. And while Reid may not be the most famous celebrity who has admitted to having some work done, his story is truly unique. Reid penned an essay for the Huffington Post in which he admits to suffering from body dysmorphia. At 19, Reid had cheek implants but the results were disastrous. He said, "I couldn't let anyone see me like this, so I stayed in complete isolation. When I went out, people on the street would stare at me, and when I visited my parents they thought I had contracted some illness." To fix the problem, Reid went to another doctor for a chin implant. The surgeon had made a mistake and another procedure was necessary to fix the implant. Reid went on to have even more procedures and experimented with fillers and fat transfers.
Reid had some wise words for others in his situation stating "Before seeking to change your face, you should question whether it is your mind that needs fixing. [Getting work done] is not always a bad thing. It often helps people who actually need it for serious cases, but it's a horrible hobby, and it will eat away at you until you have lost all self-esteem and joy. I wish I could go back and undo all the [work]. Now I can see that I was fine to begin with and didn't need the [procedures] after all."
