15 Celeb Pairs Who Absolutely Refuse To Work Together
There is no such thing as a boring celebrity feud. Most of them don't last a lunch time. Take, for example, the notorious Lindsay Lohan-Hillary Duff-Aaron Carter feud of the mid-2000s. We all know who won that one (spoiler: it was Hillary Duff), but at the time it was all we could talk about. Evidently, Aaron Carter, in his new role as musician/social media person/utter catastrophe, still wants Duff back, but we're so over this drama.
Feuds usually become old news pretty quickly. Most of them are created for ratings, but others can get waaaaaaaaay out of hand. Those listed in this article are the long-term feuds that will never go away. They've impacted on working relationships, real-world relationships, and our relationships with those celebrities. You may also notice that a lot of these feuds have resulted in something of a collapse of career for many of those that fell out of public favor as a result of the issue.
The golden rule of the celebrity feud is to either come out on top, or make the disruption of working relationship such a headline-grabbing issue that both members of the party can benefit. If you're weak against your opponent, you'll lose your lifestyle, career, and social media followers… and that is the new standard of celebrity in America, so be warned, Hollywood!
15 Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice; Twitter Warriors
Victorious, evidently a television show (?!) ended a few years ago, and spawned the A-list pop star Ariana Grande. However, during the filming of the show, tensions rose between the predominantly female ensemble, and eventually the media spun the story as a real-life feud. Though Justice has spoken publicly of the feud in attempts to put any gossip in the past, fans and crew from the show are less than convinced. After a video was released showing Justice snapping at Grande, the fans had it their way, and promoted Grande to the shining star she is today. Justice? Well, I've yet to see her reach the same stratosphere as Grande, and many journalists put this down to her actions in the show. The memes spawned from this feud evidently go on for days, but it's unlikely that anyone will remember it in years to come.
14 Naya Rivera and Lea Michele Felt No Glee For Each Other
Things between Naya Rivera and Lea Michele started out fine. When the co-stars both joined the cast of hit TV show Glee, their opposing lifestyle choices in the show made them the best frenemies on television. However, Rivera has since reported that Michele may be a bit insecure, and definitely jealous of all those that compete against her. Even on the show, Michele was incapable of separating the show from real life, and did not like that Rivera was getting more attention as the show went on.
In her memoir, Rivera noted that Michele's M/O was to be #1. Whatever the real story, these two stars evidently hold any ill will against each other, but have appreciated that they probably don't have much of a career together… oh, and we heard that Michele is acting similarly on the set of her new show.
13 More Like Fight and The City: Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall
You would be forgiven for mistaking the goings-on on the set of Sex and The City for an episode of Gossip Girl or 90290. Sarah Jessica Parker, star and producer on the show, went all out to ensure that Kim Cattrall's life on S&TC was a total freaking nightmare. Evidently SJP didn't like Cattrall, for whatever reason, and so sought to make her life a living humiliating hell. If you go back through the show's storyline, you'll see that Cattrall is always getting the short end of the straw: cancer, fat, moving to the west coast, just about anything and everything SJP could do to embarrass Cattrall was done.
We don't really know how to feel about this one. For anyone to be that heinous, we'd like to assume that Cattrall maybe gave it back to SJP… but now that reports are surfacing every day on how awful these entertainment folks are, we're inclined to believe that SJP is Queen B on this one.
12 Ugliness Between Lindsay Lohan and America Ferrera
Back in 2008, Lindsay Lohan was in the pre-meltdown phase of her career. During this time, she was booked to star in a handful of episodes of then-hit TV show Ugly Betty… and it got crazy. Everyone involved in the show had a different story. Apparently Lohan would show up on set every day with an entourage, smoking 24/7, and left the dressing room in such a mess that it had to be repainted. She also refused to go to set until America arrive - classic power play - but in order to exact revenge, America went a step too far. During the rehearsal of a scene where both actresses pants each other, America pulled down Lohan's pants to reveal hat the A-lister wasn't wearing anything underneath. Lohan, devastated because American wasn't meant to pull her pants down, burst into tears. Ferrera was blamed for a great deal of the issues because she was consistently mean to Lohan, and eventually Lohan only appeared in four of the six episodes she was booked for.
11 Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer, The Diva Duo
It is every girls, and no woman's dream to watch Alex Pettyfer and Channing Tatum get naked and dance around on a stage in front of them… but things apparently got even hotter off-set between the co-stars, but not in a good way.
Pettyfer came out with reports of being insecure on set, and renting an apartment from a friend of Tatum's that he swiftly moved out of (because the mold and dust was so disgusting they could barely breathe in there). This led to Tatum turning against the British star, and saying some really horrible things to Pettyfer. Whatever the issue, is clearly knocked Tatum way in the wrong direction, because Pettyfer wasn't invited back to the sequel, and led to a series of pretty pathetic attempts to gain favor in the tabloids. Cringe.
10 Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey… Battle of the Bimbos
One day, the world will wake up and realize that neither of these women ever deserved the platform we put them on, but until then, they will still go down as being one of the funniest, arguably least believable feuds in celebrity history. Minaj and Carey were both judges on TV reality show American Idol (you guys remember that show, right?) when their feud began. Consider the fact that Minaj has the musical ability of a wet towel, we were just as surprised as you to see her judging other's musical talent. Evidently, so was Carey, so instead of discussing this with producers, Carey and Minaj decided to drop hella f-bombs, joke about gun violence, and a bunch of other, pretty nasty stuff that made its way into headlines, and likely contributed to the demise of the show. Whatever happened to these two, we just couldn't care less. Next!
9 Tina Fey and Paris Hilton, Saturday Night Fight?
It's always absolutely awesome when Tina Fey beats the metaphorical life out of a useless person. In this epic, she took to one-time Saturday Night Live host Paris Hilton. In an interview with Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show, she described Paris Hilton as a, “piece of sh**.”
The #1 female comedian in America did not hold back. Here are some highlights: 1) Paris had the hair of a Fraggle, and left nasty wads of Barbie hair on the floor from her cheap weave. 2) That Paris has giant man hands. 3) Paris actually takes herself seriously, and “embraces her stupidity.”
We're still amazed that Fey was so open and unguarded about her hatred of the heiress, and are also thrilled that we don't have to feel guilty about assuming that Paris was an idiot.
8 'I Love Trouble' Co-Stars Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts
Having two leads that hate each other when you're attempting to make a screwball romantic comedy is arguably every director, writer, and producer's nightmare. All of these individuals were met with just this terror during the filming of I Love Trouble, starring Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte. Back in the early 2000s, the two co-stars kept their hatred for one another a secret from the tabloids, but once the film was completed, released, and had been out of the theatre for a while, Robert and Nolte broke their silence on each other. Robert described Nolte as a, “disgusting human being,” to which he responded, “it's not nice to call someone 'disgusting,' but she's not a nice person. Everyone knows that.”
Roberts was accused by crew members of throwing tantrums on set, and would constantly dig at Nolte when they were on set together. This only led to Nolte attempting to annoy her even more. Children, please.
7 Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano: The Original High School Rivals
Shannen Doherty has annoyed and upset just about every other female cast member she has worked with, according to the Internet. When researching for this article, Doherty came up more than any other actress for feuds with cast members of Beverly Hill 90210, as well as a handful of other shows she has been party to. Evidently her feud with fellow Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano reached a head when Doherty was exited from the show in 2001. On the firing, Milano later said: “I don't know if she got fired, we never really found out what happened… I can tell you that we were on the air with her for three years and there were definitely some rough days.”
This only led to a reigniting of the feud between the two stars. When interviewed about it, all three of the stars were cagey, and didn't really go into how they feel now, but reports suggest they're over it.
6 Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett About To Commit Their Own Hollywood Homicide?
We had almost forgotten that Josh Hartnett existed, and this might be why…
Hollywood Homicide, a movie that literally no one saw, and no one remembers, was marred with issues between hit star Harrison Ford, and that guy Hartnett. Some have blamed director Ron Shelton for not working hard enough to get the performances out of the co-stars, but tensions between the two men persisted on set throughout filming. Ford has largely been the one to blame for this one, as he notoriously argues with just about everyone he works with. To date, he's fought with George Lucas, Sean Young, Ridley Scott, and Shia LaBeouf… and those are only the ones we know about. Hartnett said of filming with Ford:
"There were times we would end up just sitting in the car when we were supposed to be doing a scene and neither of us would say anything for like an hour.”
5 Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy Almost Got Lawless on Set
Shia LaBeouf used to be one of our biggest celebrity crushes, but then he went insane. His career tanked, and his personal life became the stuff of nightmares. Tom Hardy on the other hand, has soared into success after success, all while playing the same exact character in every single movie and TV show he's ever done (that is the opinion of one journalist - Hardy should do one terrible RomCom, and then he can have the career he deserves).
Whatever you think of these two, what is undeniable is that a fight broke out between them on the set of Lawless. Apparently it got so bad that both actors had to be restrained, and the crew were thrilled that it didn't escalate, as neither men are known for having anything in the form of self control.
4 Charlie Sheen and Selma Blair Need To Deal With Their Anger Management
Selma Blair's exit from Charlie Sheen's show Anger Management was one of the most severe in recent history. Evidently Sheen decided to do the firing himself, and used some fairly strong language to do so. However, here's what really went down…
Sheen was into Blair. They were great on set together, and Sheen was incredibly fond of his co-star. However, it would appear that Blair didn't feel the same, and she told. She told someone how much she really didn't like Sheen, committing the cardinal sin (that Hollywood is currently freaking out about) and spoke ill of her co-star, and star of the show, to an unverified source. NEVER TELL ANYONE IN HOLLYWOOD HOW YOU REALLY FEEL. EVER. Why not? Because it'll always get back to them.
3 Nathan Fillion Is The King of the Castle, and Stana Katic Isn't Invited
Reports of Fillion and Katic's feud began years ago, with both stars evidently hating each other for years and years of working together on the borderline good tv show Castle. Neither actor would talk to each other on anything other than the set, which even led producers to send Katic and Fillion to couples counseling.
Insiders on the show also leaked reports of disliking Fillion, which culminated in Katic being dropped from the show at Fillion's emphatic request… and then the show being canceled. The saddest part is that Fillion evidently still believes he won the feud, which makes us wonder how Katic put up with him for so long?!
Fillion made the number one mistake any television star can make: he made the show about himself, and the fans did not respond well. Well done, Fillion; master of your own demise.
2 The #1 Feud In Television History: LC versus Heidi
The Hills, an epic chronicle of the lives of California's elite. The show spawned careers for all cast members, but also gave way to one of the most talked about feuds in television history.
At the time, everyone in the universe hated Heidi Montag. We hated Spencer. We hated the whole thing. Everything Heidi did was awful, and was openly trying to hurt LC… but in a report YEARS after the show ended, Heidi did not hold back.
Evidently, the plastic fantastic barbie reality star hated LC from the start, and it was her job to be her friend. She didn't care about LC's problems, and even tried to help her. When things kicked off in the notorious “YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID” fight, Heidi claimed that she had nothing to do with whatever the thing turned out to be.
Montag concluded the interview by throwing back LC's infamous forgive and forget speech… BURN!
1 Never Again On A Sunday For LL Cool J and Jamie Foxx
Physical fighting is the #1 no-no in Hollywood. A celebrity's face is EVERYTHING. That's the money-maker. However, this golden rule clearly fell out of the window on the set of Any Given Sunday, a film that no one has ever heard of, starring LL Cool J and Jamie Foxx. According to the Miami-Dade Police, LL began pushing Foxx, his rival in the movie, and then punched him in the face while he was wearing a helmet. Evidently, this was intentional for the movie, but LL had promise to warn Foxx before the next punch landed. He didn't, so the two grown men got to scrapping with each other. In true machismo fashion, both individuals received face injuries, but both also refused any treatment. No charges were filed, but egos were definitely damaged.
