How to Be Pretty Atypical Secrets to Owning Your Beautiful You
We're all pretty, but there are moments where you simply don't feel it. We wonder how to be pretty. In those moments, take control of how you feel.
There were moments where I couldn't look at myself in the mirror. Was it because I was ugly? No, I know I'm pretty, but at that time, I didn't feel it. If you think you're unattractive because your nose is too big or your eyelashes too light-enough with that bullshit. We're all pretty but when I say the word pretty, I mean the entire package. This is how to be pretty inside and out.
How to be pretty: More than just shiny baubles
When I looked at myself in the mirror, I didn't feel pretty. I didn't feel that I had a beautiful soul. I didn't feel that I was a good person, nor did I think I was physically attractive. Your 'prettiness' is directly correlated to how you feel, not necessarily how you look. Does that make sense? If you want to be pretty, sure, you can brush your hair and whiten your teeth, but it takes more than just that.
It's more than slapping on a pair of high heels.
#1 It starts with confidence. If you're not confident in yourself, you're not going to see yourself as an attractive person. It really all starts with confidence. Now, you can gain confidence in different ways.
You can become good at something specific, such as singing, baseball-whatever you like. You can also gain confidence through the support of people around you, your friends and family. Lastly, you gain confidence through your appearance. Basically, you develop your confidence through improving yourself.
#2 Take pride in your look. I'm not saying you need to wear makeup or start learning how to walk in high heels. Being pretty has this connotation that you need to look like a Barbie Doll which is complete crap.
Looking good doesn't mean you should conform to society's standards. Looking good means dressing and caring for yourself in a way that makes you feel confident and sexy.
#3 Focus on what you have. Trust me, I know right away what my flaws are, at least the physical ones. I have yet to fully admit my personality flaws. The point is, you need to focus on the positive aspects about you. If you're constantly fixated on your flaws, how will you show your beauty to others? Everyone is flawed, so, get over it.
#4 Don't view beauty as a competition. This is why women are all messed up. We've been forced to act like beauty and men are competitive prizes. If you work out the hardest, you're the fittest which makes you hot. If you wear lots of makeup, you're more beautiful than any other woman.
It's all garbage. You cannot view beauty as something that's a prize. Everyone already has beauty, it simply varies from person to person.
#5 Take care of your body. This doesn't mean you need to work out every day, twice a day. Though I do recommend you do some sort of physical activity, you don't want to lose muscle. You need to take care of your body, you literally are given only one.
Taking care of your body through healthy eating and exercise shows that you value yourself which brings out beauty. When you see someone who cares about themselves, not in a narcissistic way, they appear better looking to you.
#6 Be yourself. This is the best way to learn how to be pretty. Listen, I'm on Instagram every day, I see how women look nowadays. Now, I'm not saying they look unattractive but everyone is trying to fit into this mould. Every girl wants to look like Kim Kardashian and at the end of the day, they're not her. You're not her. Be yourself.
#7 Compliment people. I know, you probably weren't expecting this. You probably thought that I would say that you should accept a compliment, which you should! However, giving is more rewarding than receiving.
Complimenting others, which has been scientifically proven, makes you a happier person. You are perceived by others and yourself that you are a more attractive person when you compliment someone else. That is… if they're genuine compliments.
#8 Laugh. I know so many girls that don't smile because of frown lines or because they want to look mysterious and sexy. Honestly, who gives a shit. Listen, life is short. Why spend it trying to impress people who won't be in your life ten years down the road?
Plus, men find women who laugh to be more attractive. So, if that doesn't give you more of an incentive to laugh, then I don't know what will.
#9 Check out a sauna. First of all, saunas are great. Second of all, they help you excrete toxins from your body through sweat. If you feel stressed out, head to the sauna. It helps you calm down, relax, and, well, not have those pesky stress breakouts. If you're prone to stress and having skin breakouts due to it, then hit the sauna.
#10 Cut the sugar. Now, you've most likely heard all the negative aspects that come from sugar-inflammation, premature wrinkles, acne, weight gain, fatigue. If you want more energy and feel a lack of confidence because of your skin, then cut the sugar.
Trust me, in a week you'll notice the difference. No fruit juices, no candy, no processed foods-just stick to your fruits and vegetables.
#11 Have sex. Having sex is a great confidence booster, especially when the person is really into you. Plus, when you have sex, your body releases hormones which make you feel younger and happier. Like, what more could you ask for? It's time you started having sex. You can literally hump your way to feeling pretty.
Now that you know how to be pretty, are you willing to put in the work? Of course, it won't be easy, but this will help shape you and your future.
